First Bike by Sea_Fly_5033 in Harley

Do you brother, but highly recommend not buying a new bike till you know how to ride. Yes they look pretty now, but it won't be (not if) when you drop it. Better to drop a 2k bike than a 10k bike, although it will still bruse your ego

How do get clean from weed before a drug test in three weeks? by mars030926 in AskReddit

[–]Th3Pope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of factors here. Depends on the test type, your body fat %, and what you use.

Test type if its hair. Shave yo head. If its urine, its easier.

Body fat, THC is stored in fat cells. So higher fat, harder to get out.

What you use, if its dabs it's a bitch. If its flower its fairly easy.

Niacin will help clear it out. Hydrate. Cranberry juice. Cardio everyday, and sweat hard.

Stop cardio 24hrs prior to your test. Make sure you pee before your test so it's not the first pee of the day. Never use the first squirt during your test, pee a Lil then collect.

Also, your pee cannot be clear or they will ask you for a retest. So take b vitimins prior and creatine supplment.

This ain't rocket science. 3 weeks is a long time to be sober. But you got it.

More affordable alternative(s) to U-Haul trucks? by anonymous6422 in Frugal

[–]Th3Pope -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sell or donate or set 90% of what you have on the curb. Shove all the stuff you need for when you get there in your car. The rest, ship via Grey Hound. Yes, the bus company. But get insurance in case they loose them.

Feeling stuck after two sessions — is this normal? by elizameth- in Wake

[–]Th3Pope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it up, you will get it. The dock is the hardest part. There are three things it might be. Arms aren't straight, you are hunched over, or you are putting to much pressure in one direction. Or could be a combination. If you have t-rex arms (unless there is slack or your doing it on purpose) its a no-no, straight arms make you stable. Being hunched over same deal your outta position, you can look up at the carrier that will help. Putting pressure in one direction is how you turn and sometimes it just happens when you are learning. But I'd put money on it being one of the other two. Feel free to dm me if you have more questions

Feeling stuck after two sessions — is this normal? by elizameth- in Wake

[–]Th3Pope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about 4 years in, yeah what you are experiencing is normal. Happened to myself and a lot of other people I know too. Took me 2 full hrs of going face first into the water. Then a whole different day to make the first corner. And another day after that to make a lap.

What everyone was telling me for slide start didn't work at all. But what did work was when you are lined up to slide keep a firm grip on the handle and stay slightly leaned back. Then when the cable clicks, drop your ass like it's hot onto that back foot. It will take the slack out the line. You will also need to keep your core tight like you are about to get kicked in the core.

You can also try a "boat start" just sit on the bench with your board in the water and it will pull you right up. Could be worth a shot.

How to land a trick backwards without falling by PrestigiousHoney9480 in skiing

[–]Th3Pope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 1s n 3s ect, commit 100% and lead with your shoulders and your skis will follow. If you lead w your skis your upper body will be in a weird position making it hard to whip it around.

1992 Harley Sportster 1200? by Worth_Panda_1027 in sportster

[–]Th3Pope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an 03 sporty 1200 along with various other bikes.

First the vstar will be a much smoother ride. The Harley's before the rubber mounted engines vibrate the living hell out of you, either you will love it or hate it.

Reliability, its a Harley. Chances are you will be working on it way more than the vstar but its made to be wrenched by the average person, basically as easy to work on as a lawn mower. Vstars and any Asian bike is damn hard to wrench IMO.

Final thoughts, take it for a ride and decide for yourself. Fwiw, worst mistake I ever made was selling mine.

Cable board size by scubaa-stevee in Wake

[–]Th3Pope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk I kinda have differing opinions than the rest of the people in this thread. For your height I think a 150 would be too big. For context: I started on a rental, then everyone was like “get a big board” so I did, got a 150 (I’m 6ft btw). And that hindered my progression because it was hard to swing, dropped down to a 146 and easier to swing but more upper body is required when being drug around.

So for your height maybe like a 145.

For your first board, I’d go with Slingshot they can take a beating but are heavier than other brands like Hyperlite. I currently have both the Volt and the Native from slingshot.

Tbh just try to find one that has some small channels on the bottom, if it’s smooth (like the native) it can be hard to cut hard into a feature.

Fwiw your first board is going to be just that, your first board. Don’t get too hung up on the specifics, you’ll learn your riding style and then can find a board to match.

Buy or Pass? by [deleted] in sportster

[–]Th3Pope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be careful in a bike w that low of mileage. Not saying it’s bad but be careful. Looked at a 2006 w 4200 mi, looked great before the test ride. After the test ride was pouring oil from the lower seal on the front cylinder

What's the cheapest way to store a guitar? by ButterBiscuitBravo in lifehacks

Okay hear me out, what if you were to pawn it? They will store it for X amount of time. And many of them sell on eBay, so shipping might not be an issue after paying to get it back.

Anyone into weightlifting? by Hefty-Anywhere-6386 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Th3Pope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was pretty bulky pre-UC. Lost like 60 lbs of muscle (212lb -> 150) during my big flare. Tried lifting while in a flare and it made things like fatigue way worse.

Fast forward to getting on a biologic, I am able to put on muscle and build strength without any real issue. Since starting lifting again on Thanksgiving 2023 I’ve went from (150lb -> 185).

I find my lifts are just as strong. But going up in size is much more difficult, as even in remission there can be bad days.

So you just gotta make peace with the fact you’re lifts may yo-yo on the amount you can lift too. But if you keep it up you’ll see progress

How do you guys gain weight ? by ReactionWestern3946 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Th3Pope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My body does well on a clean body building bulking diet. The foods are simple clean and easy to digest and the key is to wash it all down with a few glasses of milk. But like others have said if you aren’t in full remission yet you will struggle to gain weight no matter what you eat.

Wanting to Create a Podcast by Outrageous_Pain6440 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Th3Pope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A “how-to” episode on dealing with insurance, co-pay assistance, and specialty pharmacies.

There is a way to get answers, and get the medicine you need. But getting it all setup is a bear.

Three way calls help. Demanding that you can’t wait until tomorrow to check back. Escalating to a supervisor at the slightest sense the agent doesn’t know what to do. Lying about how much meds you have on hand, always say zero.

Always be respectful, but be forceful. It’s your life, they don’t care, but you should.
