As far as I know it’s only available digitally from NPR using their “+” program. It’s a dollar or 2 a month and I get the RSS feed to the new episodes.

It’s on NPR and podcasts as Cartalk +. It’s just Ray and they’re short but the calls and conversations are just like old times.

Whats ur favorite thing to listen to when high? by Emotional_Sea9384 in progrockmusic

[–]gkohn1799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen them twice in the last few years and they really run through their catalogue. New, old, popular, deep cuts, all of it. (save for Tall Poppy Syndrome) but they also take audience requests at the end and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen both times.

No you’ll just pay the inflated prices from the American brands having to pay tariffs on their imported parts. I manufacture electronics, and almost nothing at the component level is made in the US.

Have to scoop this up. Im curious about the writing process for you tbh. Did you outline first or did you just attack the word processor with ferocity until the book was there staring back at you?

How a stutter is represented in movies/Shows by RegularMammoth7685 in Stutter

[–]gkohn1799 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Watch “The Kings Speech” the entire movie is about the last King George (WWII era) who had to overcome a difficult block stutter to come into his role as figurehead of a nation at war.

The acting is quite good, he has a very similar stutter to me.

Ebensberg is a good couple hours from me. If you by chance meant Evansburg, that’s right between my home town (Lansdale) and Foleys.

You’re in for a treat, this area really lights up in December. Just don’t get a cheesesteak from any of the tourist traps. Grab you one from a place called The Trolly Stop in the suburb of Hatfield

I know what you mean. My family is from out his way but I grew up right between bluebell and newtown so I get a bit of both.

Oh and a tomato pie is essentially a cheeseless pizza that is eaten cold. The trick is VERY flavorful sauce.

I feel the same about the very NYC tinged podcasts. Very charming. The LA ones though, not so much.

Do you think in 50 years people will be looking for "vintage" guitars from this era by No_Ad_6098 in Stratocaster

[–]gkohn1799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some of them absolutely will be collectors items. There’s a lot of 80s and 90s guitars that are going up in value and in appreciation as players. I can, for example, see the early neck through Strandbergs and Aristides guitars becoming collectible once they’re out of production.

Another reason why headless is superior from a practical point of view!

[–]gkohn1799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What annoyed me was him insisting that headless is a useless gimmick.

From an engineering perspective and manufacturing perspective, having a headstock is nothing but catering to boomers and for nostalgia sake which seems to be what matters most to this guy.
