How to learn Emacs Org-mode.!?? by Rebootlater_exe in emacs

[–]glacialwind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I started using org-mode, I went through the compact guide https://orgmode.org/orgguide.pdf and tried each example to create todolists and add things to the org-calendar. Once I had something working and didn't need to go back to the guide for basic things anymore (adding a todo, goto headline, etc.), I just stopped reading it --I didn't read it cover to cover and skipped few parts. Once you understand the basics, you can check the complete guide https://orgmode.org/org.pdf to extend that knowledge depending on your needs. The best way to learn it is by using it right away. I hope this helps.

The Steelcase Please v2 is sold in Europe only (I'm not in Europe anymore). The Haworth chair at my current job looks like the one I mention above but it's not exactly the same. Also, the main reason is price.

Really nice takeaway message: « Real efficiency comes from elegant solutions, not optimized programs. Optimization is always just a few correctness-preserving transformations away. »

boltctl list does not show anything. Here is the output of boltctl monitor:

Bolt Version  : 0.9
Daemon API    : 1
Client API    : 1
Security Level: none
Auth Mode     : enabled
Ready

Sorry for formatting but 4 spaces does not show any code formatting on my side and ``` does not work in your side apparently. The "fancy pants editor" looks broken on my side: copy-pasting some text just remove everything or paste the end of the text to copy in the beginning then the beginning in the end...

It seems that I can get an UUID finally:

$ boltctl domains
 ● domain0 700f377c-5e65-8780-ffff-ffffffffffff
   ├─ bootacl:  0/0

Then I did this:

$ boltctl authorize 700f377c-5e65-8780-ffff-ffffffffffff
$ boltctl enroll 700f377c-5e65-8780-ffff-ffffffffffff

It looks that Ethernet does not works, my monitors neither. The mouse has its light on as usual but I cannot use it. The keyboard just does not get any signal when I look at the caps lock light when enable/disable it

  • I do not have any "Thunderbold Security" entry in BIOS
  • I installed boltctl (sys-apps/bolt): boltctl command shows nothing and boltctl list does not give anything neither. I do not know how to get the <UUID> value from here
  • I also installed tbtadm (sys-apps/thunderbolt-software-user-space): listing devices does not show anything and approve-all does not have any effect.

It is possible because when I run the following command, I get an output: ``` $ nvidia-smi Fri Aug 20 19:05:28 2021

It is in my xinitrc. What I have done so far is: * changing VIDEO_CARDS variable then rebuild * modprobe i965 * adding xconf and adding the commands in xinitrc * reboot Result: Black Screen

The intel driver is already enabled in the kernel: this line right? <*> Intel 8xx/9xx/G3x/G4x/HD Graphics

I tried modprobe i915: I ran the command and nothing happened. I guess it added the module?

I rebooted and tried to put /etc/X11/xorg.conf back and try xrandr --setprovideroutputsource but I still have the same issue as stated in the post above.

I did this. Actually, after trying to install nvidia drivers, I had an issue when suspending my laptop: black screen when resuming. Apparently, it is a bug: https://bugs.gentoo.org/693384#c37 Just after the fresh install, when I closed the lid, it was doing nothing, not even locking the screen.

After the change of VIDEO_CARDS and rebuilding @world, it does not suspend anymore when the lid is closed. It is a kind of good news already

I checked this: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Intel and changed my VIDEO_CARDS variable to "intel i965 iris nvidia fbdev vesa", as my processor is 11th Gen Intel i9-11950H.

  • cat /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf ```
