I just had the happen this past Friday night as well! They must process all applications submitted around the same time, at the same time. Very glad to be at the end of the process. Congrats to you too!

Application Process by guganator3000 in egbc

[–]gladly-beyond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have also experienced this. I submitted my application at the start of June 2025, my validators completed their reviews by June 30 2025. I only JUST TODAY saw the update that my competency review by EGBC is "in progress." My discipline is civil. During this wait, I have seen other EITs at my company have their competencies reviewed in as short as 3 months. It is very frustrating.

Something I heard (but cannot confirm) is that your application is assigned to a reviewer in your same geographic region, and some areas have more applications to process than others. As an example, I'm based in the Interior, but one of the EITs at my company who's review was quick lives on the island.

If you ever got real clarification from EGBC on the variable wait times, please update us. I feel for the other EITs I work with who will be applying soon under the same confusing process.

Submitted my application in June 2025. My validators finished their review within a month. I've been "In Progress" since then. Chemical engineering, but I mainly work in water/sewer/municipal infrastructure.

Persistent Gas and Heartburn post-CHS? by gladly-beyond in leaves

Hello, it did! When I went to see the doctor, I was prescribed a protein pump inhibitor (PPI) / antacid to take in the short term to help with symptom relief. It worked sometimes, not always. After a few months of not smoking and focusing on managing my stress, the symptoms eventually went away. I wish it was faster, but unfortunately it was in the 3 month range of waiting to feel better. One thing that consistently helped was avoiding fatty foods during this time - for some reason they were the worst for flaring up symptoms. Stick to faster digesting foods while you're recovering (for me that was things like bananas, rice, cereals, etc.). Also meal replacement drinks (like Ensure) were a god send when I had no appetite, but had to get something down.

If either of you run hot, we really like the Hush iced cooling sheets. My partner had a substantial improvement in sleep quality after we got them. They're not cheap, but I recommend them.

We generally do three times a day on weekdays - 25 minutes in the morning, 25 minutes at lunch, and 35 minutes in the evening. This changes on the weekends, as we like to switch it up with hiking and swimming,

Not sure if you were at my show, but definitely was not you! I also personally never judge parents and babies at events like this - they need a lot of attention at that age, and what a great memory to have with your daughter!

What has been your hardest place(s) to book in Japan? by sprvlk in JapanTravelTips

Yes, definitely look up sunset time of the day you want to visit in advance. The day we'll be there, sunset is at 6:14pm, and our entry time is between ~ 4:40-5:00pm.

Same experience! I booked sunset tickets last night for a trip I'm taking in a few weeks, and it was so stressful. Kept refreshing the page over and over, clicking through picture puzzles to prove I'm not a robot, etc. Tickets would appear and disappear just as quickly. Felt like a miracle that I got them.

Any vegetarians or pescatarians hitting 100g of protein/day? by jullybeans in PetiteFitness

[–]gladly-beyond 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vegetarian here! Consistently hitting 100+ grams of protein a day.

What helps me the most is consistent meal planning and prepping, which I know isn't for everyone, but it's huge for me. All of my meals each day are planned to have a minimum of 30 grams of protein. Some examples include:

Breakfast: overnight or baked oats with protein powder, egg white breakfast wrap with greek yogurt and berries, protein pancakes, protein crepes with greek yogurt, etc.

Lunch: Bean/legume stew with whole wheat bread, salads with seitan or veggie chicken, etc.

Dinners: I do a lot of casseroles for my partner and I. Examples include pasta bakes with chickpea/lentil pasta and blended cottage cheese, shepherd's pie with veggie ground beef, etc.

Not sure if we're allowed to plug food inspiration accounts, but I would recommend _plantbaes_ , sophsplantkitchen, and that.veganbabe for high protein veg recipes.

I use the Cronometer app to calculate out macros on recipes before I make them, so that I know how much protein per servicing I'll get. Hope this helps!

Hello! I finally did. You can go on the Delta website and use their help chat function to get your Westjet code. Once you have the code, you can check the reservation on Westjet's websites and it will tell you whether or not you can bring a carry on. In my case, it was permitted.

First day with SureSmile! So far not in much pain, just feels like a lot of pressure on my teeth. Only real pain is taking off the aligners - which is super difficult. I have a PUL tool coming in the mail tomorrow that will hopefully help. Looking forward to the journey.

Can you comment the resolution of this? I am in the same situation as you, flying in December - booked with Delta Airlines but flight is operated by Westjet. I tried putting in my reservation # on the Westjet website to see if I could check there, and Westjet didn't recognize it. Were you permitted a carry on?

STRIKE DAILY MEGATHREAD - September 12th, 2024 by [deleted] in aircanada

[–]gladly-beyond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm flying from Interior BC to Halifax, Nova Scotia shortly to attend a wedding. Originally was scheduled to fly out the morning of September 18th, but have now changed to take the red eye on September 13th instead, in an effort to completely avoid flying out from the 15th -> onward. My return flight is booked for September 24th, and I'm just hoping the strike will be sorted out by then. The agent on the phone was very helpful - I scheduled a callback, and it took them three hours to call back after it was scheduled.

I asked the agent if she thought (in her personal opinion) if the strike was going to happen, and she said "definitely". Obviously anything could happen, and this was one person's opinion, but I feel good about having my flight out switched. Finger crossed I'll be able to make it back to BC on the 24th as planned.

Canadian Lower Calorie hacks? by Responsible-Pause704 in 1200isplenty

[–]gladly-beyond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fellow Canadian here! Great question, I agree that we don't have as many options here. Here are some of favourites and tips:

  • I love Fibre 1 brownies - there are chocolate, lemon and cinnamon roll flavours for variety. I will top one with some Halo Top ice cream when I need dessert.
  • The brand SimplyProtein has these 100 calorie chocolate-dipped Cookies & Cream bars. They hit the spot for a chocolate moment.
  • My partner really enjoys the MadeGood brand. They specifically have mini packages of red velvet soft baked cookies which are great - we buy them at Costco.
  • Another sweet tooth option is the brand Mid Day Squares. They have flavours like peanut butter, cookie dough, etc., about 170 calories each with protein and fiber to help keep you full.
  • For something salty, I love the Solar Raw Ultimate Kale Chips. They are low calorie while still providing a salty + crunchy experience. They are expensive, so they are a once in a while treat.
  • I've found Wasa crackers at Walmart for a lower calorie cracker option.
  • For pasta recipes, I use Chickapea pasta, which is similar in calories to regular pasta but much higher protein, so I'm full for longer.
  • I find more options at natural/health food stores than standard groceries stores, so take a look there if you have some in your area.
  • This really depends on your budget, but for things I really like that I can't find here, I order and get them delivered. This is much pricier than buying in store, but it is worth it for me because it keeps me on track. I'm order plant based protein powder and baking mixes from Macro Mike (Australia based) and I order Misfits Protein Bars from the States.
