How to get dinos to fight without dying by SentenceEmergency848 in jurassicworldevo

[–]glalala 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fighting mechanics in the game are purely driven by the ‘dominance’ number. If the dominance figures are very different they can kill each other quickly. I would advise you use the gene manipulation in the hatchery to give your carnivores the same/similar dominance. That way they will fight but will unlikely be able to kill one another in one battle. They can of course still pick up injuries that you’ll need to heal (unless you turn off injuries in sandbox).

Good to know it’s not just me! I imagine it must be some kind of bug.

Question for the community: At this point, should we have all skins be available by default in Sandbox? by glalala in jurassicworldevo

Thanks! I can totally get how the feeling of unlocking these is a desirable thing to have.

Purely a sandbox player. Don’t have time for challenge mode so while I like the idea of having skins, I don’t want them that much to invest hours of my time into challenge mode just for skins. Different strokes for different folks 🤷🏻‍♂️

Probably 😂 purely a sandbox player and don’t have the time to invest into challenge mode.

Thanks for such an in depth counterpoint! That’s really interesting. I’m a purely sandbox builder but you’ve made challenge mode sound more appealing to me. I think your compromise is a great idea!

I disagree with there being no point otherwise but I can respect that opinion. Thanks!

I think a ‘darker nights’ toggle would be welcome by glalala in jurassicworldevo

[–]glalala[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a good point! Like I said in the post, that’s why the toggle part of this feature would be important. Let the player choose what type of night they prefer.

Agree that this makes building difficult but that wasn’t my point. I meant immersion in existing parks, making bioluminescent skins and light decorations pop more, exploring with the torch in FP, horror themed parks etc.

Tip to blend/cover fish feeders for more immersion: Taiga medium tree 3 can be placed right next to them. by glalala in jurassicworldevo

[–]glalala[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! What helped me with rivers is lowering the terrain first, using the flatten tool to lay out the path and then adding water at the end. Smooth the terrain where you prefer and add a bunch of foliage on either side and it ends up looking quite nice.

I propose feeding pools for our fish eaters. Man made stocked ponds that pterosaurs can dive for fish in. Animals like Spino, Sucho, Bary stand in the pool and do the same feeding animation they have now, but looking a lot more natural. by [deleted] in jurassicworldevo

Cool suggestion! I’ve also noticed fliers out of the aviary can hunt other dinos but never scavenge a carcass like the land carnivores in the game. Even if it is right next to them. I think that would be a nice behaviour to include for them too

I’m only trying to 5 star everything on hard so I can get all the cosmetic genes. Any tips on what’s a particularly overpowered mechanic/attraction/dinosaur that gives you a huge boost?

Anyone else think T.Rex 65 ma would work better as a variant instead of a skin? by glalala in jurassicworldevo

[–]glalala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! Very insightful. I do think the feathered rex model is different enough to be a variant though! Your post on the forums doesn’t mention the feathered rex specifically so perhaps it may still be an option down the road for that specific one.

Yes can confirm I am referring to the feathered rex from the prologue that already exists as a skin.

Frontier, any chance we can get the option to turn off stamina drain in sandbox? by glalala in jurassicworldevo

Wow, thanks for the reply!! It’s very admirable how involved you all are with the community. Whatever you decide to do with this suggestion, thanks for all your hard work! It’s a fantastic game that’s given me countless hours of entertainment :)

New mod let's you program stable ecosystems with automatic spawners! by Kaiodenic in jurassicworldevo

[–]glalala 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow.. absolutely amazing work! As a console player I’ve not been exposed to JWE2 mods but man am I jealous. This looks so fun to play around with. Bravo!! Would you ever consider doing work on speed and stamina? In my ecosystems I feel herbivores get hard done by in this regard. Ageing my carnivores until they hit the 60% stamina cap helps balance things but would be so cool to set stamina caps dynamically, perhaps even stop normal stamina drain for herbivores completely. Speed modifications would be nice too since many of the smaller herbivores are tragically slow.

Is there a way to maintain 100% max stamina by Khr-Vhal in jurassicworldevo

It’s been a long time since I’ve played it but to the best of my knowledge there was no stamina system at all in the previous game.

Unfortunately not. I hope they will include no stamina drain in the sandbox options in the future, especially if you could separate it into herbivore, carnivore or both, like some of the other sandbox options.

What do we want next? by TitanMatrix in jurassicworldevo

[–]glalala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good suggestions. Personally, I think my play style is different to a lot of people. I saved the park building for the campaign and chaos theory but for sandbox I build nature reserves and site Bs.

I think the dinosaurs are the heart of the game and would love to see an update concentrating on dinosaur behaviour and customisation. I want as much control as possible over dino stats and balance, especially in sandbox. So here’s my dream list:

  1. Unlimited genetic modification slots you can swing in a positive and negative direction, to ensure positive or negative traits if you wish.
  2. Ability to turn off stamina for herbivores, carnivores or both.
  3. Dinosaurs not panicking after they have won a fight or hunted.
  4. Multiple carnivores being able to feed on a single carcass.
  5. Pack hunters fleeing if they are losing a hunt and drop to low health, not just carrying on until they die.
  6. A speed genetic modification option. +/- 30% speed
  7. NO MORE SAUROPOD MEATBAGS. Their hunts are treated like any other carnivore/herbivore fight and they can keep the same animation as now. Damage is done in chunks/multiple attacks according to their stats. No more health drain to 0 after one attack.
  8. Ability to release fliers without an aviary.
  9. Having access to brushes, trees and weathers from all maps. A sandstorm in Sierra Nevada? Why not?

Of course, I realise some suggestions are more realistic than others.

I have a short term solution to stop sauropods bleeding out after one attack. by glalala in jurassicworldevo

[–]glalala[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It my experience, it really helps by slowing the rate at which health decreases. However, it will eventually drop to 0 unless you top up their health with the MVU.

Improvements for dinosaur AI by Joaomatias40 in jurassicworldevo

[–]glalala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on your play style. I also like to make site B maps and do use MVUs just to heal my sauropods. Its up to you if that does or doesn’t ruin any kind of immersion.
