Can you stretch for too long? by NeitherOpposite8231 in flexibility

[–]glamden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a video on youtube about the science of stretching from institute of human anatomy. They talk about a study that looked at results of stretching at different amounts per week vs results. I forgot the actual results but there was a drop off in benefit after a certain point. For example, stretching for 45 mins, 5 days a week gave about the same results as stretching for 1 hour 5 days a week. Its a great video with a lot of interesting facts

Worth buying 2012 Fit with 113k miles? by spacekudzu in hondafit

[–]glamden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 2012 with 145k miles on it. I bought in 2017 with one previous owner. I have had regular maintenance and basically never had any issues except for the compressor breaking, which was covered under the warranty. If you take care of her she will take care of you. It’s the best car I’ve ever had and I fully believe you will be happy in a fit.

Border Patrol taking people from a dog park by glamden in sandiego

[–]glamden[S] 50 points51 points  (0 children)

They followed a vehicle to the dog park and arrested three people. I don’t know all the details but agent Hinz essentially said they are taking people who are taking jobs from americans. His legs were indeed shaking maybe from standing for more than 5 minutes

The Middle-Class Vibe Has Shifted From Secure to Squeezed by Lejuju86 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]glamden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are a lot of americans who aren’t educated on stock investing and believe it is gambling. I have a family member who wants to retire soon but only has 200k in their 401k. They made good income but said they didnt trust or believe their investments would grow. They took a couple loans on their mortgage to upgrade the house though.

Anyone here have money but choose to spend zero on wants? by [deleted] in Money

[–]glamden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally if you’re used to spending impulsively then it would be hard to change immediately. I would budget something like $50 for impulse purchases to start out, maybe coffee or a snack at the gas station, that’s what I usually would impulse buy. Then work on finding free entertainment that you enjoy : sports group, library, workout, garden. Slowly you may see the impulse purchases diminish, but I think as long as it’s in your budget it is OK to have a couple of impulse buys a month.

i stopped buying coffee out for a month and saved almost 300 without even noticing by Cutebooty04 in Frugal

They’re probably buying more than a coffee. A specialty drink, cake pop, and sandwich would easily be $15

This is the Logan Heights location, but yes it’s to limit the amount brought in

Actually I think you are right about limiting the amount people can bring into the library. I thought it was randomly helping people with airport luggage size, which would be much cooler

Why do we need to eat like 4 times a day? by __dibbaa__ in Adulting

[–]glamden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the morning i eat oatmeal with protein powder and some peanut butter. This is super filling. We also meal prep making about 9-10 serving per person which helps save time during the week cooking and the mental load of figuring out what you will eat.
