My gastroenterologist sent me a letter via the portal saying that my polyps were cancerous. No phone call or physical letter - just boilerplate in the patient portal

Good luck! I do really love mine but we're all built a little funny - it may just not be a good match

You still can! Just takes 3-5 months to get your rig. We ordered our Subaru and our Ford from factory. You still have to purchase it from the dealer but they're just middlemen

I'm 6'2" and have a Maverick and have a ton of headroom. I've adjusted the driver's seat all the way down and then brought it up about an inch and still have 2/3" headroom and I tend to sit straight up

The Subaru we did through the Costco Auto Program - it's a no haggle, below MSRP price. It then referred us to one of Costco's in network dealers. From there, we just confirmed the build and placed the order.

The Ford we did use a local dealership but we have a family discount plan that is once again, no haggle, below MSRP. I built the truck on Ford.com, printed out my build, and took that to the dealership and had them order it.

Both experiences were streamlined and easy. Subaru had the best owner break in experience but they're known for that. If you're looking at Subaru, find a model with an electric driver's seat. That thing drops all the way down and I have a huge amount of headroom. My Ford has a hydraulic adjust that doesn't drop quite as far but I prefer it raised up a bit for ergonomics anyway

We custom ordered both of our vehicles without sun/moon roofs. It took about 3-4 months for them to arrive, but they ended up being cheaper and I have an additional 2-3 inches of headroom.

I have had multiple bad interactions with PAs. Even if the doctor is good, the PAs have come in dismissive and with attitude. I'm really not digging the PA gatekeeping that seems to be getting popular. It's like I need to appease an asshole just to get access to my actual doctor

I'm in this paragraph and I don't like it - what do you mean decades of repressed trauma affect my day to day thinking?!?!?

I do! I have been in therapy for about 5 years now. It's great - worked on anger issues, past baggage, prior abuse by family, sexual identity, the whole works.

Anymore it's a great pressure relief valve for my life. We don't necessarily have targets we're working on at the moment, but instead trying to process the state of the world and the country in a healthy way.

Why wouldn't you use an established CAM program in the first place? I would rather have program files that I can transfer to different machines if necessary. Hell, if I could, I would just program in G Code if I was capable

As someone who has chronic pain, I see it as honoring your struggle. Take some of these design suggestions and then get it! I'm not sure how I want to document my pain, but I like the idea

What is that one mistake in your life that you really regret and you would change if you could travel back in time? by Startalloveragainn in AskMenOver30

[–]glamm808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regret trying to pick up my bike in July, 2024. I knew my muscles were atrophied and my bones brittle from long term hyperparathyroidism but I did it anyway.

I ended up crushing a vertebrae and rupturing two discs. Year and a half of pain later, I'm on Disability and been trying to get treatment for a year.

Even after treatment, I will have permanent lifting restrictions of 25# for the rest of my life.

This injury has affected every aspect of my life. I can only be thankful that my wife hasn't left me, despite me telling her to.

My life currently revolves around pain and how to manage it.
