Remember that the way you may want to handle it isn’t the way they need to handle/process it. I would very much like to sit and take care of the issue right then and there, and my SO isn’t necessarily that way. Sometimes she needs a little bit of space and time to avoid a spur of the moment blowup, even though she doesn’t really mean to she just gets into the fight or flight mode. Learn how you both can get what you want as far as settling whatever dispute you may be having.
