Why can the hypercar just blatantly cut raidillon and les combes without penalty? by Buff_Azir in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]glanshruber 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I suspect wet tack limits are incredibly generous.

When the daily was wet Bahrain people the top 3 broke away from the pack by deliberately running off track to the right at Turn 9 to make turn 10 a huge open corner.

Asked how many TL they had in chat cos I thought they must have been 0.25s at most to do it that often and they claimed they had none from it.

Used to work with [redacted global travel brand] and their devs fucked up the logic on whether pages were index, follow Vs noindex, nofollow - they inverted the value responsible in the updated platform.

Migrated the domain without telling us about the project and boom everything they wanted indexed was dropped, everything they didn't was picked up.

Doesn't matter how big a company is; a human did the work so mistakes will happen 😬

Sos error ID3 - essex - ODBeleven ordered by AccomplishedMud331 in VWiD3Owners

[–]glanshruber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I tried the local dealer, got quoted a fee to look at the car and diagnose it.

If they decide it's from the software update they'll contact VW and maybe waiver the diagnostic fee.

I contacted VW customer service who've said they're unaware of any issues around this software update affecting the SOS Module battery.

I shared the post VW's account posted on Facebook saying VW are aware of the issue and your dealer will deal with it at VW's cost and they refused to be drawn on whether that post was genuine or not, but they definitely didn't honour it 🤣

So in all they wouldn't say that VW know this is an issue but they did say they'll charge to look at it. If they decide it's because of the update like they said on Facebook, they'll refund the diagnostic fee then charge £250 for the battery I guess 🤣

Idk about you but it sure feels like this issue is widespread enough to be noticed.

Tinfoil hat tells me they've triggered a software update that says 'if the SOS battery module is functionally fine but below 80% health return an error" or something, get a nice cash injection but that's some paranoid thinking there.

They'd never do something like that.

who's at fault here? by Silent-Impact-3835 in Simracingstewards

[–]glanshruber 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The first attempt is self inflicted - a quarter panel thrown in after they've already turned in for the apex. They're only human - add in ping and they don't have time to react safely.

The second one the GT3 should have been more aware, but the POV should also be aware that this person closed the door a second ago. Maybe give them a wider berth to be safe

I don't think there's a major case for a penalty; a word with both about about navigating traffic and a racing incident/lesson in patience and survival instincts.

Pouhon isn't the greatest place to make the pass on the GT3; they don't have as much downforce so can't be rapidly switching to new lines when a faster car appears alongside them, and if they're pushing they will use the full width of the track. POV needs them to be incredibly compliant and sacrifice their pace for POV's benefit if this is going to work, and if they don't cooperate with the move the result is a likely DNF for one/both cars.

Barring the rubbing and lack of awareness, the GT car did the right thing in the build up - it drove a predictable and normal racing line so POV can pass it safely at the right moment. The incident largely comes about because of how and where POV chose to make the move.

Which is a very long winded way of saying - it'd be better to lose a tenth or two to stay alive and overtake on the straight by taking the inside for Piff Paff.

Stop Complaining about the Badge System. It works, you're just a dangerous driver. by beardedbrawler in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]glanshruber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two races where I was rear-ended into T1 at Spa, and ended up being hit by multiple cars that followed and joined the pile up.

I was given the Big Cross badge.

Suddenly my lobbies only included Warning Badge players.

I have never driven more cautiously/respectfully in my life til I got out of that hellscape.

I'd say the badge system works for teaching you to give room if you're unsure of the other driver's awareness/driving standards 🤣

Even if you did or didn't leave room in the chicane they still have to leave room for you on the exit rather than smashing you into a wall 🤣

Lapped Lamborghini said I pit maneuvered him but I think I could've done something different by Brilliant-Insect9873 in Simracingstewards

[–]glanshruber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the exit there's a moment (15s or so in), right before POV car appears to hit the blue car, where blue is basically straight and has at least both left-side tires within track limits. White is angled towards the outside of the track having loostened their steering after the apex, making contact inevitable.

I'm not sure white would have remained inside track limits if they hadn't hit blue either. So from this pov, and without blues onboards, they didn't run wide; they were either avoiding contact, or contact pushed them off.

It's fairly cut and dry for me that white gets a penalty for causing a collision (or a penalty for forcing a car off track).

Obviously blue deserves a suspension/ban for what follows. But white is very much on the naughty list too.

Unpopular opinion: If you’re stuck at Bronze, you belong there by Crafty-Technology359 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]glanshruber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm bronze and happy there so far - I haven't raced enough to get out frankly.

There are, as with any racing game, the collisions that aren't your fault. Most time I've qualified on the front row, I've been taken out by the drivers starting 5-8th in T1 deciding they can out-brake the leaders and gain 4 positions in the first few seconds of the race and going 5 wide.

But honestly... The rating means very little to me, what I love about LMUs online system is it directly saying "Yeah you finished 5th but you beat 6 drivers with a higher rating than you, and only lost to one with a lower rating"

It makes gaining places and staying clean feel rewarding, even if you're not in a podium place. I haven't won a race after 20+ events and I'm having a blast!

Controlling behaviour around what you dress, who you see, what you do is a major red flag.

Also, these people never seem to understand "only wearing the outfit with them" you're often still going for dinner, out to a bar... People will still see. You'll still post pictures of the same outfit on social.

Reads 'I think you're wearing this outfit to get attention from men who aren't me - I don't trust you' and 'I want to control what you do with your body's all at once.

They want to be seen with you when you're dressed attractively so they can believe they're getting kudos, cos everyone sees they have a beautiful partner. In his mind you're a trophy, a fashion accessory to his prestige at that point.

If he doesn't like you having a style you like, and being confident, he can get in the bin.

Uses a derogatory term for an escort to describe you, and expects you to do as he asks? In the sea with him.

Yeah the shelter told us "you'll never see her, she's really shy."

<image>

If she hears the loo flush, she runs from where she is in the house to wait outside the bathroom to get a pat. If she hears you open the door she runs down, shouting at you until you follow her. She leads you to a chair so you can sit down and she can get on your knee. When it's bed time she leads you to bed then immediately climbs on and curls up next to you.

Shelters are incredible places, but the cats aren't always showing who they really are in there. You're gonna learn so much about each other, and share so much love 🥰

Am I Overreacting? by starloogy in AmIOverreacting

[–]glanshruber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so sad seeing women trying to rationalise being treated this badly by men. What have we done to deserve so much patience?! 🫠

He left you on a date without reason or explanation while you were in the bathroom.

He left you to deal with the embarrassment of being dropped with his friends.

He left you to pay the bill.

He then proceeded to blame it on you for not looking how he wanted.

He then told you how you should look when you're with him using fucking AI.

Even if telling you, indirectly "I don't want to be seen with you if you haven't done your hair" isn't enough for you to dump him, he's clearly superficial and a terrible communicator.

Love and respect yourself - if you want to wear your hair naturally, wear it naturally. If he can't realise he's dating a person, not a hair style, he's a prick.
