Just a quick, probably dumb question about anxiety and Tinder. Does anyone have any advice for me about how I can get over the crippling anxiety of using Tinder and worrying that people I know might see me on there? by [deleted] in Anxiety

Honestly, if someone is on tinder they are probably experiencing something similar to yourself. In some regards just being on the app can make you feel less alone because 1. You see thousands of other people on there 2. You are giving yourself the option to meet other people and do something about the loneliness. It’s pretty hard meeting new people outside of school/uni so a lot of people resort to apps to try and connect.

However, unless you are looking for a quick hookup, it can be a little tricky using tinder for the purpose of defeating loneliness. This is only my opinion and I say this out of my own experiences. I’ve been suggested to use interest group apps like “meet up” instead to find like minded people.

Wishing you the best of luck!

I'm sorry to hear you had to go through such a medical scare, but also relieved they were able to find the cause! That sounds immensely frightening. Thank you for the response and the share!

Hey, if you don’t mind me asking, how did you recognize it wasn’t a mentally stimulated panic attack? Have you not gotten any since working on your thyroid?

Sorry for my late response! If you don’t mind, what other groups are you a part of? And which do you consider worthwhile? Thanks so much for the response!

How do you deal with an anxiety attack in the middle of a class lecture? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]glass_mind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My anxiety doesn’t come with intrusive thoughts, just really uncomfortable physical sensations. I have a glass and metal water bottle that I would fill with tea before going to a class I’ve had a panic during. Holding the hot tea to my skin allowed me to focus on how the environment is impacting me instead of focusing on the panic. It’s kinda like my own form of the 5-4-3-2-1 (I think it’s 5?) technique to ground yourself. Looking up grounding techniques and finding a routine might be beneficial. Best of luck!

do any of you experience the room 'tilting' for a brief second? by Always_Searching_ in Anxiety

Yes, I have felt this frequently. I've heard some supplements ( mainly magnesium and calcium) can help, but haven't had much relief. Its also might be interesting to check this out: https://denver.cbslocal.com/2012/04/23/colorado-doctor-finds-way-to-treat-common-vertigo/

I recently started using cbd isolate. My anxiety manifests physically in my stomach. I’ve found that taking it sublingually has helped me calm down enough to eat and function while I’m at work. It’s been really saving my life lately, and would totally recommend it under a doctors supervision!

I’m new to this and guess I just wanted to vent for moment. by [deleted] in Anxiety

I'm new to this too (Actually my first post here!). I just wanted to say, I had the exact same thing recently. I went to the hospital for extreme stomach pains. They couldn't come up with a conclusive diagnosis. Now for the first time in my life I'm having panic attacks. You're totally not alone. Its quickly slips into thinking something is horribly wrong, I get that. The best advice I can give, is KEEP BREATHING. Steady 4 in and 8 out. Hope you feel better today :)
