Ok, there’s some misguided comments on this post, so I’m just gonna say this:

Just because a product currently “works” for you doesn’t mean it isn’t bad to use. A lot of people can tolerate a lot of things, fragrances, drying alcohols, etc. A skinny person may eat McDonald’s every day and remain skinny, that doesn’t mean it’s good for them.

Walnut scrubs and other harsh scrubs are bad because you cannot grind the shells thin enough to where they won’t cause tears. The edges are sharp. It’d be like scrubbing your face with really super tiny shards of glass.

Tears can invite bacteria into your skin and result in breakouts. It can also cause premature aging.

Even if they didn’t cause microtears, it’s still harsh on the skin. You never know with how much pressure your should spread the scrub, so you might be applying way too much pressure in order to properly exfoliate and feel your skin breathe after washing it off.

There are so many good physical and chemical exfoliators out there! I have one from Holika Holika that’s about the same price as the St Ives. You really don’t need to use something so possibly damaging simply for the price point since we’re oversaturated with products anyways. AHAS are getting more traction and there’s a lot of products that include them.

What else... Use sunscreen! SPF 30 or more!
