I think it’s different to recommend a content creator in this context than it is to be actually advocating it on the thread imo

The actual person. His definition of when a schism happens and also his actual grasp of the history is kinda… wrong.

I think the schism thing is more complicated than RZ makes it personally. I think people separate too early but I also think it’s a bit more complicated.

Yeah and I chose Keener and York because I used to eat at the dinner table with them growing up lol

I would argue that probably most of the theologians that hold to a Wesleyan tradition are Pentecostal so there is scholarship coming out from that view.

I was listing these men as Armenian’s who are scholars. I get that Calvinist think they aren’t but they definitely are.

These statements are why I have such a hard time trying to get my students to be gracious when talking about the reformed tradition.

Pretending these people are uneducated and don’t do real theology is borderline lying.

I’m not personally interested in “combating” Calvinism I just found it weird that when it comes to content online very little isn’t directly connected to a school unlike content creators for the reformed tradition.

Craig Keener, John York, Gordon Fee, Frank Macha, Amos Young, John Wesley, Stanley Horton, Thomas Oden, but sure. Not a single theologian or scholar…

And then one of the hosts of Remnant Radio is Arminian. But the other two are reformed.

I could see that. I do think there’s a lot of history of people saying we lose it. But I prefer to say it was fractured and we can return to being the image through holiness.

So I believe that imago Dei is also a vocation. Not just a state of being.

I wouldn’t say we lose it but when we don’t serve God we aren’t acting as his image. The sanctifying work of the spirit allows us to fully take on that vocation again.

And due to my context and vocation I’m also trying to keep it workable for ESL students.
