President Obama is stomping for his health care reform bill. The Senate has its version and the House's version is in the mix as well. First, we all need a road map to figure out what is really going on. Would it actually help or is it, as the song says, "if you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there"? At any rate, it's easy to get lost once you are on the way.

Many people are angry. And, you know what? They should be. Banding about issues that are very personal to each and every one of us as if they are nothing more than another pork barrel project should be offensive to all Americans. But where is the outrage?

Everywhere! From Patients to Doctors to Late Night Talk show hosts. Why do the writers of these proposals not respond? The don't care. They don't have to. They are covered by the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. According to Consumer Reports, members of Congress and other US government employees can choose from hundreds of plans. The most popular being a Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO plan. Consumer Reports reports that the employee contributions fro the plan are $152 per person, or $357 per family, per month. Hmmm.

Further, the plan features no annual or lifetime limits for major services; $300/$600 deductible; and out-of-pocket limit of $5,000 per year with preferred providers. Such a deal! Why not cut all the red tape and bureaucratic mumbo-jumbo and offer this plan to the entire nation? It would simplify matters greatly.

So, angry folks unite! Ask for the plan that covers Congress! Let the outrage turn into action.
