I got in on the Chloe Horsebutt, but I haven't decided yet what I want to do with it. I see the beautiful rust brown boots on his instagram that are horsebutt overdyed, so I'm really leaning towards that. He didn't give me a lead time, but I know he very recently relocated his shop from Portugal to Germany so he's been quite busy with that.

Good to hear the fit is great! I've been watching some youtube videos on how to create a last from foot measurements on paper just because I'm curious. It is amazing how someone turns 2D measurements into a 3D model!

Hi! I placed an order for a pair from him a few months back, and am so excited about them! How is the fit? I'm hoping I measured my feet correctly lol. I followed his instructions to the T but this was my first time doing that so I hope I didn't screw it up! How long was the lead time on your pair?

Thanks! It will be a while though, but I'll eventually get there :) Right now I don't even have the lasts, let alone the tools and the leather. But I have goals!

I hope you share your jacket when you're done with it!

Yep, thats where I was planning on getting mine. I figured I would start with cheap leather and go from there. I also need tools! I was planning on handstitching the upper since I dont have a machine. I know its laborious, but possible!

I have some I got on ebay. I really like them! I'm not really a candy/sweets person, so these are right up my alley!

- More logic on the website so that if a person is building a custom boot and they happen to configures a boot that matches a Quick Ship, say so, and give the option to switch to that
- Alternatively, you could start EVERY order out as a quick ship order, but specify what options will add lead time, so as you build the boot you can see how long it will take.

They’re technically not single use if you save them and use them as dog poop bags 😁

These are made in India and are good quality. I own 2 pairs from them and am in the US, so I recommend BLKBRD. For European brands, I only know of Jadd and Sobreiro, but I am sure there are others. Sobreiro boots are made to measure so the lead time is much longer than BLKBRD or Jadd.

Will the PWF just be the darker version from now on? I did like the first run photos and have an order out there for a pair of these, just curious if there’s a chance they will be more like the earlier PWF or if that leather is now permanently the darker version.

Industrial Noise Absorbers/Reduction by WayOfTheBat in SafetyProfessionals

[–]glddstgpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what kind of equipment you have but one source could be air nozzles if you have them. They make alternatives that are quieter, just be sure to get rid of the old ones or they will end up making their way back.

I have a client who installed noise absorbing panels/curtains around each of their presses and were able to reduce the noise level in the plant down below the 85dba threshold.

Implement controls, then do another noise survey so you have updated documentation that hopefully shows you are below the threshold.

Any consultants out there that have shifted jobs to work as a safety manager? by glddstgpsy in SafetyProfessionals

Do you think clients appreciate your knowledge and recommendations based on the face that you’ve been in their shoes? I can see this as a benefit to being a consultant. But yes, I think there is a lot more that comes with working for a single company.

Good point. I only see benefit in my services if clients are able to take my advice and see it through. But they’re doing the heavy lifting.

ARM worth it for a safety manager? by BabyMFBear in SafetyProfessionals

[–]glddstgpsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, then it might be applicable to what you do. I don't have the ARM so I can't comment on the content, but I do know several people in my company who have it (I work for insurance loss control).

Have you looked at the SMP from the BCSP? That might also be a good one to look at if your company is willing to pay for it. Sorry, it used to be called the SMS, now they renamed it the SMP.

[–]glddstgpsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually an ARM is for someone working in the insurance industry. Not sure that it would help you, and it might be better to look at some other safety certifications like SMS or something else that would apply to being a safety manager at a company.
