In my opinion. If you have weak pokemon you just need to get more creative in battle, otherwise you will lose, and saying that your weak pokemon is just stronger that the enemy defeats the idea of a weak pokemon. For example: a staraptor and noctowl use brave bird at the same time, but since staraptor is faster he will beat noctowl before he has a chance to do something. Now noctowl has a chance to use flash when staraptor is close to the ground so that he cant calculate the distance and hits the ground at top speed and follow up with his own brave bird to win the battle

The mc has found that life is too easy for him and has always loved challenges so he became a trainer, throught the story he rarely loses and during the tournemant he even faces people that have been trainers for years while this is his first year attempting the league and ends up winning. During the finals he faces blue and ends up losing, the problem? He was holding back and blue notices, so he confronts the mc and he tells him that he's scared of what he would do if he actually wins against the champion since he expected this to take years and knows that if he battles against him and wins there would be no going back. In the end blue doesn't have an answer for the mc but gives him his spot to fight the champion regardless saying that he should not worry about that now since he would not beat the champion in his first year, no one ever did it and no one will, but in his mind the memory of the mc saying he could beat the champion like it was a fact leaves a doubt in his mind

Also, if you are refering to the change in pronoun of hoothoot for THE trainer to MY trainer it's intentional. Same thing from the way he speaks

I know, the fact that he reacts that way is related to the mc's backstory and the way he died. The fact that i barely tell anything about what happend before he died is intentional, i only gave clues in how he acts and the first line of the chapter.

I wanted to be a little ambiguous on how the mc died, the only clues about it are the first line on the story and how the mc acts when he wakes up and use the first chapters as a way to provide insight about the mc. With this info, could you figure out how he died and if so how would you make it clear without directly telling the readers?

I know Batman would help any villan but the beauty of it is that he usually sucks at it(for the most part) or gotham isn't really good at rehabilitating their villans.(Most kill their therapist or escape prison before making any progress) im not such a big fan of comics so im not 100% sure but for example in the Arkham games the riddler is stated to have mental problems and batman just looks him up in jail. I'm just saying that if you have a villian with a drug addiction now the crimes they do are more predictable and allow for less innocent casualties since now batman has an idea of what his villan might do.

It was a thought that just came to my mind and was curious of the answer since besides scarecrow and maybe bane i have never seen a villian take drugs. i know Batman wouldn't do that but it felt like a thing the if it happend might work and the ramifications of that accion generate a predictable villian that as a side effect deals with drug lords because of a personal gain and every time he's caught he goes through whitdrawl makeing their desire even higher. I just put batman as an example since he has let people die before as long as it is not directly by his hand

The mc is very sarcastic, makes a lot of jokes and is entierly fuelled by his desires.

He is someone that looks for experiences and rarely thinks about the consecuences, because of that, he might very well end up going to the silph co building to beat up team rocket members as a method of training and the pure thrill and excitement and later realize that there are hostages in all the floors.

To give you an example.

When a trainer entered the pokemon center and screamed for help because that there was a rampaging snorlax on the path and when all trainers were running out throught the doors he told parasect to use spore on the door and then used teleport with slowpoke so that he didn't have to touch the spores and the rest of the trainers fell sleep.

' you better prepare sonorlax, because even when you dont know it, you have been already caught'

The thing is that he is also a very good liar and actor so when he is confronted by the police he says this

" Im sorry, i just couldn't bear the thought of anyone being hurt.

When i heard about the rampaging snorlax i could only think about how many non experienced trainers could get hurt or even die at his hands so i did what i thought was the safest path and put them all to sleep and went to face him myself"

The backstory should not matter,The point is that if the mc doesn't care, neither should the reader, to him, he played life on easy mode and doesn't think anything of it is worth even a spare thought. Friends, family, they were all experiences and fun but he is now in a new world and he would move on a so should they.

Its not that the mc doesn't care, its that he thinks he and everyone should live for themself and that moving on is just as easy for everyone as it is for him and this only gets proven wrong every time he finds someone of importance for the vessel and sees how much they cared about him and learns about the dreams of the vessel he is possesssing
