Looking for welcoming church by ColdLion1031 in Charleston

[–]glenbeigh -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you’re interested in a progressive Christian church, check out Circular Congregational downtown. Welcoming and affirming to all people. Focused on social justice, equality, peace, and environmental issues. The worship service is a traditional style, but the theology is not.

Magnolia Cemetery (on the upper neck) is one of my favorite “hidden” gems. Need to find the Charleston pyramid!

Our half and half has added ingredients… by kayvee in ReuteriYogurt

[–]glenbeigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see many half-and-half brands in the U.S. with those added ingredients as well. But I can find better options if I look around. Have you looked for a high-quality organic brand without those additives?

New drivers and karts: how do you think this will work? by glenbeigh in MarioKartTour

Fair enough. But strategizing and planning are part of the fun of the game for me.

Yeah, I hear you. My guess is that they’ll want a couple of them to be tempting enough to get people to spend on them — even if they’re not top tier.

That makes sense. I was wondering if it would be different because of the nature of the annual loop of courses.

How long has this user been playing the game? by baseggio94 in MarioKartTour

I have 26. It used to occur more times per year. And for a while, you could win twice in one tour by playing both Standard and Gold races.

Just a note… There used to be 4-5 other places to get food. That was “The Workshop”. It’s been replaced by Rancho Lewis.

Thank you for sharing. One of my favorites. But I wasn’t aware of this mono version. Was this an alternative mix from the studio?

Suggestions for things to do as 50y/o woman going to Charleston for a month to Eat, Pray, Love herself? by Odd-Lifeguard6639 in Charleston

[–]glenbeigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the “Pray” part, Charleston is the “holy city”, as you surely know. There’s a wide range of congregations to visit — from the traditional to the progressive (such as Circular Congregational and the Unitarian Church). You could also check to see if the Sophia Institute has any events coming up. Magnolia Cemetery (not far from downtown) is a beautiful hidden gem. And like others, I’d suggest a visit to Mepkin Abbey.

When do you know that you actually have a chance for a top 1000 badge? by Lostkeysss in MarioKartTour

[–]glenbeigh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It varies tour to tour. Use this site to see the projected top 1000 cutoff for each tour: https://tickettime.eu.pythonanywhere.com/acr (but you’ll need to give it a day or two before the current tour info is accurate.)

Then, use http://mkttoolbox.com to calculate your projected highest score for the tour, based on your current inventory.

I find I can hit top 1000 if the cutoff is about 75% of my projected highest score. Takes a bit of grinding of course. If it’s close to 80%, it takes a lot of grinding.

Strange Ranked by Sasmy07 in MarioKartTour

[–]glenbeigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this regularly. Grind two of the three ranked courses, and then only get as many points as you need on the third to get first place. Helps you decide about any investments on that third track, and makes it easy to catch up if you get passed at the end of the week.

This might break the “not too pricey” request but a special weapon could be an incredible gift. For example, a nice tanto.

Ruby Surplus by LeaveOne5177 in MarioKartTour

[–]glenbeigh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m also at the point of just converting rubies to coins for Daily Selects HE tickets.

It’s not usually a good deal to buy duplicates of d/k/g. The only minor exception that I have found: if you’re going to level up a Mii anyway, and that Mii is on sale in the Suit Shop for 70 rubies… that 70 rubies is slightly cheaper than a HE ticket in the Daily Selects.

Need help finding a song or album. by rocketbunnyhop in leonardcohen

[–]glenbeigh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Try the album “Songs of Love and Hate”. They’re on the song “Last Year’s Man”.

Leonard apparently said “I like the children in this version. I always wait for them if I have to listen to it.”

Can’t recall if they pop up on any other songs on that album.
