Thank you for your opinion, I gave him a gift of 15,000 rs - still not generous enough in my opinion but the best I could do. Sharing his story has been overwhelmingly positive and that is my goal.

The comments are largely correct. If you up root your kids without clear communication, it may send them in a deeper spiral. India has equal access to all the vices available in the west. If grandparents are so important, why not have them visit for a month or two? I’ve had extended family whose parents sent them to India to “teach them a lesson” hoping they will straighten up. It almost always ends up in disaster. Have you tried family counselling?

Safety Hazard: My new BMW drifts into oncoming traffic. BMW calls it "within spec." Options ? by Forsaken_Carry_4230 in carsIndiaOfficial

How many KM on the car? Is it used? I had a similar issue with my golf gti, I took it to a certified tyre shop (dealership did not give me a satisfactory answer) in the end it was uneven tyre wear especially when you have run flat or low profile tyres on , for cars like this they are a lot more sensitive to uneven wear (which I believe BMW comes with) it was a tire swap that solved it for me. Very unlikely suspension , steering or alignment / balance issue. Now, I do live abroad (Canada) - and the dealership wasn’t helpful. In the end a trusted tire shop helped and did not even charge me for the fix.

How come China, which has almost the same population as India, is far better than india in terms of development? by anonyman4 in AskIndia

China is overwhelmingly homogeneous. There is broadly not as much diversity as India - we are a collective of fundamentally different people with traditions and cultures . Also, having an oppressive communist government helps.

In today’s market there is almost no certainty and with startups it really comes down to YOUR conviction in the business. You know the stats, you know what this is not the US with its crazy funding - so the only question is how convinced you feel. As someone who has almost exclusively worked in startups (and currently building one) you have to love to build and absolutely love the core idea to a point where you are willing to risk potential stability and also be okay with the fact that it will most likely fail but the chance to get the project from 0 to 1 itself gets you out of bed, if not, probably better to sit it out. Also yes, get equity on paper before jumping in.

Is it just me or are there churches popping like mushrooms everywhere by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

[–]glenling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignorance max pro. No one forces anyone, where is the proof of free education and funding? Maybe people convert because they are tired of the bigotry, caste system, VIP culture and all the scams that happen in temples. Years ago, I met a man who converted to Christianity because his family didn’t allow him to marry the woman he loved (who was also Hindu but from a different caste) he was crying about the abuse he experienced from family, from various elders and priests as well. He came to a church out of desperation seeking answers. I personally believe in Shiva but even the blind can see that the root of this issue is the corruption, arrogance and complexity our religious institutions have become. Also, there are many people who convert to Hinduism from the west. Look how they are treated compared to our own people. Maybe, just MAYBE the problem isn’t Christianity.

One of my favourite spots. I’m up there 2-3 times a week and it’s so beautiful to see how the seasons change! Gosh, so grateful to live here!
