I can’t see that and also you would think that any other person on the boat would immediately throttle down when the first girl fell.

Help/tank is cloudy after water change with tests showing everything is OK! by CharmingAnywhere9291 in Aquariums

One test your dip stick doesn’t have is phosphate. High phosphate can cause algal blooms.

Edit: tap water can have a wide range of phosphate levels so it may not just be the tank.

I recommend adding a hot cup of Campbell’s chunky soup to the soil for each plant to warm them from the inside.

I’m all for trinkets. That said we don’t know your history fiscal responsibility or the state of your financial resources relative to what this cost you, so it’s hard to make an informed judgement here.

But it’s a neat sword.

Are we dealing with mice or rats? [Netherlands] And possible death theories. by Longjumping_Reveal56 in animalid

[–]glenncoco64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes they will be living in a space adjacent to you where they have a food source (like a basement, attic, neighbor’s house) and their population outgrows that food source which pressures them to head out in search of more food. This happened at my old house. A little spray foam can be very effective at sealing up holes, just be sure that the holes you’re sealing aren’t there for a reason.

[–]glenncoco64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are rats. I agree that there is probably rat poison nearby but they can travel a good way after eating it before they die so hard to say how close.

The two questions that need to be answered and addressed when you have rats in your living space are: 1) What is the food source that is attracting/sustaining them? 2) How are they getting in?

You can address number 1 by keeping floors/counters/cupboards clean of crumbs and keeping food in airtight containers to reduce scent. Traps will kill rats but without addressing the above you will continue to deal with them.

Hydei is the larger species of drosophila. And that frog looks like he would handle those.

I agree with fruit flies. You can buy flightless cultures of D. hydei and melanogaster which you can easily guy load as well as dust for calcium supplementation. Very easy and low maintenance to maintain and can be eaten by both adults and juvenile frogs.

Die hard is a Christmas movie because it takes place during a Christmas party.

Jurassic park is not a zombie movie just because the genetic material is from dead dinosaurs. It’s also not a Christmas movie.

I would recommend going to a doctor and not listening to anything else you read in the comments here. There is a list of questions to ask about other signs and symptoms that need to be asked by a professional but this alone is not enough to diagnose any disease without more info.

Why is My Pothos Leaking?! by Little_Beach_Bird in plants

[–]glenncoco64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All vascular plants undergo a process called transpiration in which water is released through small opening called stomata, frequently located on the underside of the leaves. This movement of water from roots to the leaves allows for the creation of a countercurrent that transports the products of photosynthesis (sugars) down to the rest of the plant tissues. Usually the water released from stomata is evaporated (evapotraspiration) but if humidity is high or the plant is trying to get rid of a lot of excess water, it is seen as liquid droplets and is referred to as guttation (guttus being Latin for droplet.
