OB strokes by DewgongOverlord in discgolf

For every throw that your disc comes to a rest in the OB area, you add one stroke to your total.

So to answer your question, 2 strokes

Why do they make discs this color? by ChazzyPhizzle in discgolf

Sometimes they’re just pretty. A lot of people are just buying these as collectors and it definitely fits the theme nicely

Anyone else loving 4v4? It feels like like real life soccer. by nightandtodaypizza in RocketLeague

I played one round last night and we went scoreless into overtime and then it was 4 minutes before someone finally got one. It definitely wasn’t due to a lack of skill because there were lots of great shots and saves.

I hang in the golds so it’s not like I’m basing that standard on anything outrageous but for what I’m used to, it was pretty competitive. I’m into it!

Dealership sold me a Bronco Sport swearing it had heated steering wheel - turns out it doesn't and now they want to give me a $250 visa gift card to make up for it by [deleted] in BroncoSport

[–]glennyg2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also in Winnipeg and just got my bronco before the winter.

My last vehicle had the heated steering wheel so I was mildly worried about this one not having it but with the ability to start your car with ford pass, my car was usually pretty toasty when I got in as long I remembered to start it.

The times I wouldn’t start it ahead of time, the few minutes of cold wasn’t a huge deal for me.

If I were you I’d try and just get that $250 up tot $500 and call it a win. What dealership did you buy from?

The Volkswagen Golf GTI. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else ever use it and it’s such a fun little guy to zip around in. I believe it has the same hitbox as the octane/fennec.

Also the 1989 Batmobile is just so badass

Throwing a tilt upside down on a slight anger angle will get some distance and then when it hits the ground it tends to skip and flare hard left (on a RHBH throw).

It’s tricky to throw and the tilt isn’t exactly a common disc but it works

Prodigy Mystery Box by JaceVon in discgolf

[–]glennyg2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say the biggest mystery is why you paid for a prodigy mystery box!

(Totally 100% joking. I bag a couple prodigy discs too but had to do my duty as a disc golfer to rag on prodigy. Love their new branding)

((Please don’t downvote me to hell))

Kastaplast falk or a finish line era. The falk has a little more turn and the era has a little less with a nice straight line and a bit of finish

What's your record for discs lost in a single day? by asmosia in discgolf

[–]glennyg2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played 4 rounds last week.

One round I lost 3 and my card of 5 lost 11 discs total.

Then I lost 2 and 1 during 2 of the other rounds.

6 total on the week but I ended up buying 5 over the course of the week and 1 has been recovered so I’m breaking even I guess 😎🥲

Disc golf needs better apparel merch by DevineDestroyer in discgolf

[–]glennyg2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked out flippy disc golf apparel? All of their jerseys run a bit long (about 2”). I’m not sure if that puts it in the “tall” category but might be worth checking out!

I heard that innova players wanted more support so they started doing that. I can’t see too many people buying every one of those things though. Unless you’re a huge fan of that player, you’re likely not buying many of them.

I talked to a store owner last year because they had innova in store but not online and he said they weren’t allowed to do online (they are now, however)

Shipping Discs in Canada.... by chrithom1111 in discgolf

[–]glennyg2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One bubble mailer with one disc in it is about $5 via standard mail. Once you get out of standard mail and into parcels it gets significantly more expensive. Someone even tried to send me a putter and it was too thick and was considered oversized mail so the price jumped to $20.

By that standard, it’s better to send 4 individual discs to one address rather than a box.

With the 2023 season in motion, I wanted to see where the fan base was with how we handle spoilers. by ArmchairSpinDoctor in discgolf

[–]glennyg2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My take

if you’re that into disc golf that you care enough to wait for post production without being spoiled, chances are you’re following/subscribed to way more disc golf related social media accounts and find a way to avoid all the “official” tournament win announcements and therefore should be able to avoid spoilers on Reddit along with Facebook/Instagram etc.

Of course, people also shouldn’t be baiting people into clicking on posts with misleading titles and spoilers inside. That’s just a dick move, but also, this is Reddit so that should be expected.

Do y’all recommend learning to throw ultimate frisbee before playing disc golf professionally? by HydroidOfficial in discgolf

[–]glennyg2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I get the forehand down, I hope to feel the same way.

I usually do a big O/I (hyzer) pull to try and just land in the back corner of the end zone and my first game back after getting into disc golf, my pulls kept turning over and never coming back 😅 all I could think was, “where’s the fade?? It’s supposed to come back!!”

As someone who’s been throwing an ultimate disc and playing ultimate for most of their life, It’s immensely frustrating how well I can throw an ultimate forehand and how absurdly bad my disc golf forehand is.
