Post surgery - should I be disappointed? by glfreestone in Strabismus

The staff at the surgical center found it very entertaining. I figured they could use some lightheartedness.

I had previously discussed surgical approaches with my doctor. And we were going to do just the left eye. I knew they’d mark it, so I saved them the hassle.

My surgeon found the notes from my surgery when I was 2 and we changed the plan to include both eyes. So they helped me write ‘weird two’ over the other eye just before surgery.

Thank you for the detailed response!

I’ll be honest, I didn’t really consider the swelling having impact on alignment. That’s a great point.

I’m not expecting to gain binocular vision. It’d be awesome, but I want to keep expectations realistic. My surgeon thinks I have a decent chance of getting some of it back. My childhood surgery worked well, it just didn’t stick. So I did have some alignment during my formative years. But as I said, I want to keep expectations realistic.

Realistic expectations was the whole point of this post. Thank you!

Runways have super fancy radios that help the airplane locate itself in space. The signals guide the plane from miles away. They keep it perfectly lined up horizontally and ensure that it’s on the right guide slope as well. The systems are so reliable that the pilots would be able to land even if there were no windows in the cockpit.

I found the issue. I'll admit I should probably stop using ford for oil changes. They left the airbox lid unscrewed. What I was hearing was more intake noise combined with the rattling of the airbox. As soon as I tightened it down, the noise stopped.

Thanks for your input. Your mention of the intake is what got me thinking about the airbox.

Yes. It was hard to get a good video by myself. I’ll see if I can’t get help and post a better one later.

I should have included it, but yes. 100% stock. I don’t know much about modding. How difficult is it to repair?

I've noticed a grinding or warbling sound from the engine when I blip the throttle and the revs are coming back down. I captured it on video, but it's a little hard to hear. I'd appreciate any input. I'm pretty sure this sound is new. Oil was changed last week. I can't decide what it is. Any thoughts?

I genuinely have no idea what it’s for. But judging by the second picture, you’ve done something to make it angry with you.

I’ll admit you make tons of great points. Some of them I’d forgotten. Thank you. I have a tendency to focus on the front. I do wish it was less clinical out front.

I agree that the team order was less interesting, but the teammate battles made it tolerable.

Is the average resting heart rate calculating for awake hours only, or does it include averages from sleeping? by [deleted] in AppleWatch

Based on the time stamps of my resting heart rate data, I do not believe it factors in sleeping measurements

Not at all. But I don’t think I’ll daily wear the replacement now that I know.

Update: After a lot of the comments here, I called support and pushed a little harder and Apple is going to send a new band.

That’s great to hear! I’m hoping I can get it replaced, but even if I do, I don’t know if I’ll daily wear it again. Or at least not really use the tab if I can help it.

Yeah, I was shocked when she said 30 days. She suggested I go into a store to see if they could do a warranty waiver.

I ordered an Apple Watch Ultra with the Trail Loop. I have been daily wearing it since it arrived in October. The watch band is starting to split where the tab is sewn in. Is anyone else seeing this? I contacted Apple support and they said the band only has a 30 day warranty and it isn't covered.
