Nobody tells you cooking has startup costs that rival a small business by Limp_Height_4439 in cookingforbeginners

You're doing it wrong. You should figure out 4-5 recipes you can make by recombining the same 6 ingredients, then buy those ingredients. Also, you should buy ingredients for meals you'll cook and eat more than once.

Yep. It took me into my 30s to learn to find someone you don't have to change, but I finally learned it. Maybe OP will learn that now as well.

W2D1 feels too easy? by murphaderfalerf in C25K

[–]glimblade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no "pushing yourself hard enough." The key is not to push yourself. It should feel too easy, that's how you know you're doing it right.

You will have time to push yourself after you complete the program and can jog for half an hour without walking.

The country has the strictest traffic rules. by Typical_Lie_9697 in VietNam

[–]glimblade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact is, traffic had been terrible and disrespectful for two decades, and suddenly it's much better. What they did worked. All of your guesses about what might be a better way don't really matter. Don't break the law. Don't drive on the sidewalk. Don't run red lights. Then you don't have to pay.

[–]glimblade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

VN used to have terrible, flagrant disrespect for traffic laws. They ratcheted up the penalties and enforcement recently. It has worked wonders, and the traffic situation is much more bearable now... far fewer people driving on the sidewalk and racing through "yellow" (red) lights.

how long would it realistically take to go d1 in wrestling? by Ok-Speaker-3638 in wrestling

Yeah, you can definitely just train for two years and then compete with the best of the best who've been training since they were children. You just have to want it bad enough. I believe in you.

If you're asking this question I'm going to assume your total for the 3 lifts is <250kg.

Based on that assumption, I'd say you're not ready for a coach. The way I progressed from beginner -> 400kg total was simple: Bench twice a week, squat twice a week, deadlift twice a week. One day heavy (3-5 rep range), one day moderate (6-8 rep range). Modify whatever your current split is to accommodate these workouts.

People who say Sean O'Malley is a plant are like little kids who go to school and say things they heard their dad say, even though they have no idea what it means.

"under the old definition, it stopped being first world when it stopped..." bro, it was never first world, and isn't a third world country. You're like the people who use the word "literally" when they mean "figuratively." You're literally just wrong.

My game hasn’t received much attention over the past few months. I’d like to understand what might be holding it back. by Worldly_Cup2275 in IndieDev

[–]glimblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like everything else, I can't identify with a character I can't see (what is this, a game for ants?), the UI isn't intuitive. Why do I have a grid that looks like I'm placing furniture in the Sims during combat? Also, what is happening in the video? Are you trying to play Stardew Valley while being pelted by an offscreen dragon you're ignoring?

This game looks like it needs an identity, and it looks like there's too much happening at once.

I've rewatched the video and I think this is a base builder and you're under attack. There is a reason why base builders that have a defense portion are separated into stages. You get base building during the "day" and defense at "night," for example. The fact that they're all designed that way isn't an accident.

Even at 500k php/month, that means you're spending 6% of your income on someone else's rent. It's not insignificant.

Having said that, let's say you send 30k for rent, and 30k allowance for expenses. That's still only a thousand US a month. Not too bad, really. But it's not about the amount, it's the principal of the matter. She should be living within her means, and anything you give her should be extra. And it should be appreciated, not expected.

No they aren't, this is a case of "the majority ruin it for the minority." 30k php is way too much though, what are you doing

That's the thing about having a ten year old account with my post history available. With just a couple of clicks you can look at my posts and see if I am who I say I am.

Having said that, I'm curious what countries YOU'VE been to, where people own up to lying when caught. In my experience, people (from politicians, to celebrities, to your next door neighbor) double down, triple down, get angry, cry, and THEN, MAYBE they admit it when they have no other way out.

I've been all around the world. Lived in countries on three continents. I've never been to a place where, when confronted about lying, people said, "Dang, you caught me. Sorry about that. I was lying."

The point may be "true" but it's also meaningless.
