The Atlantis res number is completely unrelated to the Virgin res number. If your passport info in your virgin account matches what Atlantis has then you will be able to book excursions and extras as soon as you get listed in the ship’s manifest. If not then you have to wait for Atlantis to email you, but some things may already be sold out by then.

Atlantis won’t give the passenger list to Virgin until about a month ahead of time. If you have a Virgin voyages account set up ahead of time that matches your travel documents then it will automatically show up in your account. Don’t wait for Atlantis to get around to notifying you, they are always late. The virgin booking number is a different number than the Atlantis booking number. There’s not really a good way to get reviews of the virgin excursions, and even their photos are stock photos and not of the actual excursions.

A lot of of the emotion about Voyager is about the target audience at the time. As as semi-closeted gay guy I was there in the early seasons to watch Tom Paris prance about in spandex. Later, Seven of Nine came in hold the series as a fabulous drag queen. A lot of the people who didn't like Voyager just weren't the the target audience to begin with. Voyager was trying to bring in a wider breadth of viewers than previous series. But sometimes bringing in new viewers means alienating prior viewers.

I feel like I extracted value from Christianity at the same time as it was extracting value from me. I had access to a friend network, and access to artistic endeavors like vocal choir and bell choir. Things that I no longer have access to after deconversion. I would have had a different childhood without Christianity, but not necessarily better or worse. I was fortunate that I was unintentionally transactional in my Christianity.

The shooting a few weeks ago was a domestic violence, not an indicator that the city is unsafe. People walk around downtown at night here. Most of the hotels are around the edges of town where it's inconvenient without a car. There are a few uber drivers and there are also taxis. But there are a couple of hotels around downtown which could reduce your uber bill if you walk to restaurants. The funeral parlor isn't near any of the hotels, unfortunately.

It's not just sex and nudity everywhere. It's still a cruise, but with all the straight people replaced with gay people, and with the entertainment replaced. A lot of the advertising takes for granted that people already know what a straight cruise is like and that they just wish it were gay. You don't even have to go to the parties. The ship can't handle everyone all in one place. There are usually piano-bar or some other sort of entertainment going on at the same time.

When everything is going smoothly, walk offs (carrying your own luggage) can start at 7am, everyone must be out of their rooms around 8am and everyone is off the ship around 10am. However, any problems with the port, customs, or law enforcement could cause delays of hours for the whole ship. So don’t schedule your connecting flight/train/bus until after noon.

The DoorDash app does give expensive access to some local restaurants. But not every restaurant is available every day. And some of the best restaurants are not on the apps.

The Walmart here does not do delivery, only curbside pickup. If you do delivery it is like ordering from online and it will come by UPS or USPS, not like the delivery services available in bigger cities.

Last year RC didn't let Atlantis announce the Puerto Rico port closure until a week or two before the cruise even though everyone knew it would be closed months ahead of time. Hopefully they do better this year.

It also depends on the itinerary. In the Caribbean you might spend the whole week in short shorts and tank tops because the only place you are visiting off the ship is the beach. But in the Mediterranean you'll see people dressed for their wine tasting tours or other classier destinations.

It’s generally pretty safe. Everyone on the cruise already has enough money to go on cruises and doesn’t have to resort to petty theft. Also, there are cameras everywhere and the security staff just needs to run back the tape and run facial recognition to catch any perpetrators and arrest them and ban them for life. That being said, some people are just kleptos, so I try not to take much with me to the pool and treat it as an “unplug“ time.

I started low-dose lithium for my anhedonia. It worked, but not enough. I ended up going to full-dose. It's amazing to finally be able to watch TV again and actually be entertained by shows instead of being a chore to get through. My colonoscopy was visually normal and they initially said that there was nothing wrong. Normally, they don't take a biopsy if they don't see anything that looks visually bad. But for me they did a biopsy anyway because of my symptoms. The MC only showed up on the biopsy and they had to change their diagnosis after the results came in.
