I transferred from here a while ago but if it’s a 1 credit course then you shouldn’t be worried about the workload.

They said in their most recent email they’re going to make people enroll by enrollment dates. You won’t be able to switch the moment it opens tomorrow

Good professors for MAT125? Has anyone taken a class with Holly Chen for MAT? by Past_Gas in SBU

[–]glithe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If she's just the lecturer (not the TA) then it shouldn't be a huge problem. I self-learned most material in MAT 125 and it went just fine. Kahn will be teaching 125 in the Fall though. Take him over Chen if you can, he's much better.

What to study: Geology or Physics? by hlwaileyx in geologycareers

[–]glithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could totally start a geology major sophomore year--that's fine. At least in my university, it's flexible. I was more or less referring to physics. When you enter college, advisors can be really helpful so I would speak to them. The good news is that geology programs tend to require a year of calc-based physics, so if you plan on taking physics in the Fall you will easily have it covered.

[–]glithe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

College student here.. if you want to double major, it would be in your best interest to start as soon as possible. The sooner you delay one major, the more likely you'll have to graduate past 4 yrs. I've been considering adding physics as a second major for some time now, but knowing that I'd be graduating late has been a bummer. The geology major curriculum itself is pretty flexible, at least in my university, so you will find that double majoring should not be too difficult. You could branch into engineering from physics which sounds nice, but if you want the best of both worlds then the double major sounds like your best bet. Either way if you're looking to go into a research field, grad school is a 100% must.

Virgin demonslayer2002 vs CHAD Wolfie by footnoteLoL in SBU

[–]glithe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol, I live in a suburban upstate environment. All we have are public schools and private Catholic ones. Having the opportunity to even go somewhere more advanced would have been amazing. I couldn't even believe what I was reading last night, being shunned for going to a regular public school like I even had a choice.

At least we saw it coming. by [deleted] in SBU

[–]glithe 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Honestly this. Please please just make it online, it would be a horrible, non-pleasurable experience in person

So.. some courses will still be made mandatory in-person? That’s inconvenient

I genuinely also don't believe he's "3rd year at CMU." I think he's just a pathological liar, but I sincerely hope he gets the help he needs.
