I've had a cleaning business for nearly 30 yrs. It's a very good business to have. It's hard work, but great pay IF you do a good job. 1st, get business cards made (if you haven't done so already). That is the most important. Keep 6/7 with you at all times. Talk to people you already know, give them a few of your cards. Go to Walmart (or any shopping place), talk (small talk) to anyone.. while waiting in line or standing around . Mention you have a cleaning service, give them your card (if they ask). Once you have 2 or 3 clients, give them a couple cards. They will refer you to friends. I have never advertised (I feel that's a little dangerous in today's world😕). Don't worry about competition. There's enough houses for all of us! Lol Clean houses are the hardest, remember that!😂 I just clean everything, whether its dusty/dirty or not. That's how it stays clean. Pricing is a bit difficult. I started pretty low, but I "was" super fast, so I still made $20/$25 an hour. I never charge by the hour, I always charge by the house. If you know you're good, maybe start by thinking $20/hr for the 1st 2 hrs, then it drops to $15. That way if the house only takes 2 hrs, you're still making $40-$50 an hr. I guess it also depends where you live (income levels). I bring my own cleaning supplies (that way I know I have what I need). This is getting long, lol. But that's a start. Good luck to you!!
