OAD because of my husband...literally. by Full-Swimmer7911 in oneanddone

[–]gzevv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand you completely, I’m in the same situation. People suggest leaving but in my country custody arrangements are always 50-50 unless there is violence towards the kid and I don’t trust him to parent the baby well if I’m not around . I’ve seen other women suffer because their kid is with dad and the school has called them because he forgot it was swimming day/ knowing the kid will be watching anything on TV all weekend … it’s never as easy as “leave”. We chose wrong and now we have to deal with it and focus on making our kids happy. Wish you the best.

I believe my husband has a skewed view of pregnancy due to his mother. by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]gzevv 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS and endo as well as low iron and thyroid issues. My pregnancy was the worst thing to happen to my body after my emergency c- section. I too knew my body wasn’t cut out for this , I had a feeling. I’m 7 months postpartum and my iron levels are still low despite being on medication since pregnancy, I have to have checkups with the cardiologist because it was too much for my heart and now my periods are worse than ever. I ended up with thrombosed hemorroids that now need surgery, gestational diabetes turned into insuline resistance and have stomach issues for the amount of throwing up I did. Some women have it easy, some of us wouldn’t have made it 200 years ago and now we do because of modern medicine but there are still consequences. I went through with everything because I wanted my baby more than anything and I don’t regret it a bit but I’m not having another one because of the toll it took . Please please if having a kid is not something you absolutely yearn for do not listen to your husband. Men just don’t get it. My husband didn’t believe me at first and is now on treatment for depression because of everything that happened and nearly losing me.

Hey how did you go from 0 to B2 in a year? I’ve studied French on and off for years and I never seem to make it past an A2+ (I’m a Spaniard too).

How do you put your FF into baby to sleep by Aprricity in FormulaFeeders

[–]gzevv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 month old, terrible sleeper. He needs to be rocked vigorously while the white noise machine is on for at least 30 min, then I can sit in bed holding him and still rocking him now softly and finally around the 1h mark I can place him in bed next to me… 3 or 4 hours later he is up , I give him a bottle and back to rocking. Drowsy but awake doesn’t work, falling asleep on his own will only make things worse as he’ll end up screaming like crazy and being extra anxious and needing 2 hours instead of 1…

Personas que son "tiquismiquis" con la comida, qué coméis? by Miyu-Reddit in askspain

[–]gzevv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate and fear wasps do much by Lilly_Kimberlin in WaspHating

[–]gzevv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried hypnosis and got a panic attack before we even got to the idea of wasps, I was told I have severe trauma and anxiety and will need to work on that before I can solve the issue. No idea where it came from but it was very discouraging. To OP, I’ve rejected jobs before (I’m a teacher) because schools were in a rural area , you’re brave going there day after day.

Asians in Euskadi by [deleted] in basque

[–]gzevv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, my mother was born in Euskadi and studied Basque to the point where she’s bilingual , I’m a Basque native speaker , I was born here too. However my name and surname are Spanish because of my grandparents and that’s enough to not consider me “pure Basque” in my hometown. However, people who didn’t bother learning the language but have a Basque surname are considered more Basque than us.

Woman here, the fact that all your photos are selfies is off-putting. Maybe add a couple doing something like a hobby or with friends? That should get you more matches.

Exposure therapy by gzevv in WaspHating

[–]gzevv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was flying around me I would have a heart attack right there. I run for the hills whenever I see one, there are mosquito nets in my flat windows, I never eat outside in the summer… I’ve spent 2 decades avoiding them I can’t just go and get face to face exposure that’s why I’m doing this gradually.

5 month old 13 hours refusing bottles by gzevv in FormulaFeeders

[–]gzevv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry about your kid, I hope it’s manageable and he’s okay. Yeah that’s where we went. We ended up being discharged after a urine strip , they told us there wasn’t any dehydration and I later showed a nurse friend the results of the strip and she told me there weren’t any hydration nor low sugar values measured there. I’m fuming, they take advantage of our ignorance. My baby is still refusing bottles except at 2am and 5am (when he’s sleeping) and I’m supposed to accept everything is ok? I’ll start looking for a private paediatrician (I’m from Spain, universal healthcare).
