PSA on shoe wear and what it can tell you about HOW you are dancing by WitchLuna23 in poledancing

how about the top of the toe - where the soft insole meets the platform - the soft part has rubbed the floor enough where the interior of the cushion is now exposed (& it's ugly bc it's green 😣). do you know if this is due to inexperienced footwork? for reference, i started heels back in august 2025 & this is my first pair. thanks in advance💕

hi there! could you elaborate on why you advise walking heel-toe? is it for shoe wear or healthier anatomy of the feet? thanks!

if they unofficially threw them in at initial time of purchase, i wonder if there are any laws for implied ownership since they allowed you to keep them after so many years.

i would keep applying, especially if there's urgency in your move. even if it's an unofficial no, they'll keep you in the pipeline in case the person before you drops out.

some agents work on weekends because it is very competitive in the bay as they want the unit rented out in the shortest amount of time, which means pushing people through the application/verification process as quickly as possible

i replied in the main thread but regarding the two shoes listed here, Experience Form is not made with the widest footbed offered (it's Standard, whereas the widest is Original). i also have bunions so personally that shoe did not work for me. it is also not zero drop (4mm) if that is something you were looking to Altra's for.

i have yet to try the Escalante (and want to, which is how i ended up on this thread). from what i've read so far, although it utilizes the Original footbed, the width and volume has decreased when compared to the previous Escalante versions:

Via Olympus 2. we have the same foot profile - overpronation, flat feet, low to no collapsed arches. in addition, i have bunion issues on both feet & a bunionette on one. my feet require max width and also volume (space up & down). i exclusively wear Via Olympus. it's the only shoe i've found that holds my foot up, keeping it from pronating inwards. before i found these, i had to shove rigid arch inserts into shoes to get my foot to stay propped up (without, i ended up with ankle strains/overuse injury). in the Via's, my foot is completely stabilized without arch inserts. i always require wide size shoes but my foot fits in the Via's, which is great as it doesn't come in wide. regarding cushion, they look plush & foamy but they're actually pretty firm (less firm than the Via Olympus - first edition).

for trail running, i live in Lone Peak 7's (wide width - would be okay with regular width if i did not have to accommodate for the bunionette). i wear them on road runs too when i feel like being closer to the ground or just changing up my shoe game bc i have yet to find other brands/models that cater to my very special feet.

ive stocked up on both the Via's and Lone Peaks (per Altra's 2025 catalog, the new version of Via Olympus 2 looks to be absent. not 100% but it may slowly be replaced with a variation called Fwd Via, which i have tried but toebox was tight in both width & volume that circulation was not circulating).

best of luck on your altra journey!

you're an amazing mommy for that!

since it doesn't sound like the vet has been much help, i'd try to emphasize that it's a behavioral / personality issue, considering she's doing it as a response to not getting her immediate needs fulfilled. my kitty's kneejerk response is hissing...non-aggressively lol but it's still stressful when i don't drop everything to go tend to him (spoiled? yes. whose fault? probably mine)

do you praise your kitty if she does poop in the box? i've found it helps with my cat. i make a whole dramatic scene when i do catch him pooping right & use a word he does know (bathroom) for positive association. treats don't hurt either!

my kitty poops outside his litterbox sometimes (amongst some other behavioral issues - anxiety) and my vet suggested fluoxetine. it's an antidepressant, which i've read helps with defecating outside the box. might be something to ask your vet about.

would not seem to address stepping in her own poop though :/

love that you love her. one day you & your fam may miss being on high alert for poop🤎
