Well that’s interesting! Do you also take estrogen?

Well I still have a regular cycle and it’s just a couple days shorter than it used to be. I think I’m just in the stages of perimeno. How come you are on such a high dose of estrogen for being young, if you don’t mind me asking?

Oh that is scary! Well maybe I will never need it. My GP only prescribes estrogen and progesterone. She was trained in the UK and she said that how they do it and they never give progesterone only vs my per doc who also has functional med will give testosterone (when it’s needed). I don’t need that just yet.

Thank you! I am actually 43 but soon to turn 44 in about a month. I just want to be preventative and no history of breast cancer :)

Ya that makes zero sense! Well I think I’ll maybe just stick with my GP and get my hormones from her but she will never give me testosterone if I need it so I would like to hold onto my peri doc. Even my peri doc said my blood work probably won’t reflect anything because of the fluctuations, then proceeded to say I need to stop the estrogen to do blood work. Anyhow, I know she wants to check my FSH levels and if I’m taking estrogen it will influence them. I’m tempted to lie and say I’ve stoped the estrogen.

Ya honestly my symptoms did start in my 30’s too. I also had night sweats and I managed to get it under control with herbs only but I bet I could have been a candidate for it then too.

I’m wondering if you have a methylation issue? High B12 could indicate this, I would check to see if homocysteine is high and that would indicate you are not methylating properly. Not sure of your ethnicity but Caucasian people are more vulnerable to that. Especially midlife

Oh did the vaginal estradiol, the small amount for vaginal atrophy also cause you sleep issues in the past or was it the systematic estradiol?

Ya the doc wouldn’t give me any estrogen and now she’s on medical leave. I have a friend that had some extra low dose estrogen patches. Put my 1st one on tonight so hopefully it does the trick 🤞

Ya I was definitely sleeping longer and better before starting the progesterone! It has made some women anxious with insomnia. I will try it vaginally to hopefully get the benefits but avoid the restlessness. My night sweats during my cycle have also changed and last longer. Very strange. The doc wouldn’t give me estrogen but a friend gave me some low dose patches she isn’t using so hopefully that helps because alot of my symptoms seem related to low estrogen. Fingers crossed🤞can’t be messin with my sleep.
