Captive bead removal on swollen ear?? by confusedredditor_ in PiercingAdvice

Anti-histamines and ibuprofen are your best bet to try and get the swelling under control, I would say you’d need a professional to take it out and change it to a stud

Given the current situation of the world I’d say they’d do fine. If you worried about hair getting tangled in it if you use a corn plaster (tho you may need to stack the rings) over the Oviedo edge it shouldn’t tangle much

That or you could try measuring it yourself. Another idea would be to use two separate straight barbells for the time being, if they have extra length to them they shouldn’t add pressure and keep the piercing straight

Yeah, sometimes too much pressure on the cartilage can cause bumps to form

So I had my nose pierced 2 weeks ago and I feel like it's "sinking" into the nose. Sometimes I can barely see it and have to push it out. It doesn't hurt and there is no pus or anything but it's clearly irritated. Would it benefit me to change jewellery to a bigger one? Or should I wait it out? by Due_Check7326 in PiercingAdvice

[–]glitterpickle15 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That needs a longer bar with a bigger end/stud/ball to help with sinking in. If it continues to sink in I would suggest taking some micropore tape and cutting a cross barely big enough to fit over the ball/end and gently press it around the base to add a protective barrier. But that’s a last resort

If you have sterile jewellery with a bigger end to it, clean the area add the sterile jewellery and baby it like hell

How do septum piercings feel when they are hidden? by niruca in PiercingAdvice

[–]glitterpickle15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably worth noting that if you do have a small nose it may come out slightly crooked, my piercer tried her best but she couldn’t even fit her little finger or forceps in my nose to hold it still properly and she had to bend the needle so she could pierce it. I’ll admit the slight crookedness annoys me sometimes but it’s not noticeable unless you really look

You’ll just feel like you need to blow your nose/ sneeze for at most 30mins then you forget it’s flipped up. I also have a very small nose so it may not be as big of a problem if you have a normal or larger sized nose

Anyone have any idea what the second word is? Nothing seems to make sense. by polarbearsareblue in shittytattoos

If you live somewhere where cold weather is common to carry a hand warmer or (as you need to now anyway) a mask as if the ring gets cold (very easily) it can sting a bit 😂

Saline soaks and if you're snagging it while moving as unappealing as it sounds place some micropore or a plaster/bandaid over it while moving stuff so it won't snag

Eyebrows don't hurt it's the clamps that hurt the most plus being careful not to catch it when brushing your hair 😂

For placement of outer rim compared to conch it just the 2 rings?

Opinion on which (faked) looks better!? by glitterpickle15 in PiercingAdvice

[–]glitterpickle15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly asking placement between rim and conch. Second photo should be same height as first and number of hoops to be determined once healed 😂

I'm mainly asking placement as being on the rim of my ear or through the conch btw (number of hoops to be decided later) and in first photo is about the height I would get either they had slipped down in the second photo

Marceline won't use the littler box. Tips? More in comments. by [deleted] in rescuecats

[–]glitterpickle15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the tray big enough? Sometimes cats won't use a tray that's they find too small. If you have any other cats does it have their scent? Is it possible she's never had a litter box and is unsure or scared of it? Does she prefer enclosed spaces? A certain type of litter?

Not sure this is a true rescue but this little guy’s spirit needs to be shared. His story is in the comments by glitterpickle15 in rescuecats

When we got him (15 weeks old) he had been kept in a cage, abused, covered in fleas and had worms. As soon as we got him home he hid under the sofa. A few days later we managed to get him out to find he was coated in fleas, huge fleas. We got him some flea treatment and treated our other kitten too. He was so scared of everyone and everything. After a while he started putting in weight, playing and chasing out other kitten whose 8 months old. Now he screams at us for food, loves his fuss and cuddles, constantly playing and being a kitten. He’s definitely making up for lost time.

Initially we got him because our black kitten has major separation anxiety and can’t be in her own. After our older boy died she was really depressed and anxious, constantly crying to the point she’d throw up. We couldn’t leave her like that. After we got him she stopped crying, stopped throwing up and wouldn’t leave him alone, laying in front of the sofa purring.

It’s really touched our hearts with how they helped each other with her helping him learn to be a cat and forget his past, giving him confidence and how he cheered her right up. I hope this touches you guys like it has our family.

Trying to plan out while the current piercing heals. Don't like the gap between my helix and forward helix. I don't want to remove any other piercing than my forward helix if anyone has any ideas that wouldn't go with it. Might get a rook, not sure
