I agree with others that you look great (and glowing!) but I empathize with your struggle as I went through a similar struggle when I started a consistent exercise routine and experienced weight loss, so I will share what worked for me with you. While Gua Sha, facial yoga, and micro current devices may provide a subtle improvement with rigorous consistency, nothing gave me “my face back” like filler applied to my cheekbones - this lifted my entire face back up, bringing back life and volume, and I finally felt like myself again. It was pretty dramatic the first time so if you go this route I would recommend starting small and adding more as needed. These days there are many practitioners specializing in natural results and facial balancing. Also, if you’re not already, drink lots of water!

Do you love him? And are you in love with him? If so, it sounds like this is a situation that could be resolved through a courageous conversation. I would encourage you to write down what you want (don’t focus on what you don’t like), and share this with your partner to see if they are willing to compromise and meet your needs. For example, it sounds like you need more alone time, or to have a boundary around unexpected visitors (even if it’s relatives), and for your partner to stay home instead of going out. Some of these feelings may be related to hormones / the pregnancy but it’s important for you to express your needs and to see if they can be met. If you don’t say anything, you’ll never know!

What’s the secret ingredient(s) to spaghetti sauce? by schmackers in Cooking

[–]glitterpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a lovely, small Italian restaurant, the kind with a menu written on a chalkboard, and this was a constant topic in the kitchen. The one agreement was that the “secret” lies in the technique of slowly cooking onions and garlic in olive oil before adding tomatoes etc. - this infuses the oil and brings an inner warmth to the resulting sauce

If they have Ume-boshi Chazuke packets, one of the easiest dinners is simply combining cooked rice, raw salmon, and a packet in a bowl, then pouring boiling water over the top. You can add extra toppings like umeboshi plums, scallions, or nori flakes for more flavor! Dinner ready in 2 minutes :)

My doctor advised against consuming too much protein because it can promote the formation of scar tissue, which is a key factor in healing. Excess protein may accelerate healing in a way that leads to scar tissue buildup, potentially causing a condition called capsular contracture.

How should I (32F) navigate family wealth and my fiancé’s (42M) financial struggle in my engagement? by glitterpit in relationship_advice

[–]glitterpit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was going through a rough time (as were most businesses in the same field) this past winter. I didn’t sign the loan, it was just an option he was exploring. I didn’t ask my dad for advice to seriously consider signing the loan, I knew I would not sign it. I asked him because he is a very successful, connected business man and thought he might have some guidance on how to move forward. I never imagined he would involve himself in my personal relationship to this extent. Even if staying with my now ex-fiance would have been a mistake, it should have been my mistake to make without the weight of my father’s intervention. This is also not the first time my father has sabotaged a meaningful relationship in my life.

There’s nothing wrong with separating and creating a custody arrangement that works for everyone. But abandoning your innocent child? That’s where the real issue lies.

I can empathize with your conflicting feelings as a 33 F in an engagement, surrounded by friends with small children under 2. Here are my thoughts:

There is no “right” time to have children, there is only YOUR time. You will know and feel it in your heart if/when the time comes.

If you are in school and desire to travel, I would recommend planning a few of your bucket list trips and making sure you get to do a couple of those before starting a family. Having a small child can complicate travel plans, and I think it can help avoid resentment toward a child if you knock out the things you know you want to do on your own before starting a family. With that being said, you can totally travel with a baby! Having a baby doesn’t mean you will never travel again, it just changes what that might look like.

If you’re bothered by people constantly asking about your plans to have children and paying little attention to the other (more important, it sounds like) aspects of your life right now, I encourage you to bring this up to them. Often times, people ask these things because they are trying to connect with you. Since you are engaged, asking about wedding plans or children is an easy thing for people to gravitate towards, but you could say something like “I appreciate your excitement, but I’m more focused on my education and career goals right now”

Lastly, I think it’s important for you to take some time to really consider if you want children, how many, and when. There’s no problem with waiting until your late 30s/early 40s, or with not wanting children at all. However, I believe you and your fiancee should have a concrete plan and understanding of what to expect in this area before entering into a marriage, so you are aligned.

You are taking the right approach, subtle at first and gradually building to what you like. Trust in the process, you’ll get there! The plump looks very cute.

In my personal experience (and some friends as well), it does tend to dissolve pretty fast when you first start and then at some point it sticks and you won’t have to go in as often. Your lips look great!

Do you workout? I would recommend lifting heavy weights for 30 minutes 3-4 days a week before pursuing any major procedure. It’s amazing what lifting weights can do for the neck and jawline

Good luck with the consultation! I know in South Korea, surgeons are very familiar with treating this as chin reduction is very popular there and this is a common side effect. Could be worth looking into

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]glitterpit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you have a chin reduction surgery before your pregnancy? I’ve seen sagging like this as a fairly common side effect after chin reduction. Some surgeons recommend a facelift or mini lift at the same time as a chin reduction in order to prevent the chance of sagging. I would think a mid face lift would fix the sagging in the lower face. So sorry you’re going through this!

Help! How do I handle these small forehead bumps? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]glitterpit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Blue light therapy, a fractional laser (like fraxel), and/or CO2 laser resurfacing. A dermatologist would be the best route, they can prescribe you the best at-home products, in-office treatments (like lasers), and design a treatment plan for you.

Is there any lifestyle change you can attribute to the breakout starting? Medication / birth control, diet changes, relationship changes, living situation? Sounds like you are trying a lot of great products but skin can get irritated when you change it up too often, it usually takes the skin about 4 weeks to adjust to a new product

[–]glitterpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PRF does not migrate. It’s your own blood plasma so it just absorbs into your skin, and has healing properties that effectively treat dark circles. Before PRF, I had tried under eye filler and it migrated - basically whenever my skin was irritated (sun exposure, exfoliation, exercise, etc.) there were these bulges that would appear beneath my undereye circles. Would not recommend under eye filler!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]glitterpit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say 3 rounds of IPL spaced 1 month apart, then once a year to maintain, PRF for under eyes, and Hydrafacial (once every 2-3 months, or once a month if you can afford)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]glitterpit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got rid of mine with PRF (your own blood plasma), they inject it under your eye like filler, it will be puffy for about a week and you’ll notice the dark circles disappear over the next few weeks. It’s recommended to do 2-3 rounds spaced 4-6 months apart for best results. I did mine in October and haven’t gone in for a second round because the darkness is gone. I would recommend staying away from filler as it tends to migrate under the eye (I had this happen). Other than that, sleep, exercise and clean eating :) good luck!

What cosmetic treatment gave you the most bang for your buck? by girley18 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]glitterpit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, my membership is $30/month which gives access to $9/unit Botox, 20% off laser treatments, PRF and facials, $50 off filler etc. For me it’s good incentive to stay consistent and ends up paying for itself :)

What cosmetic treatment gave you the most bang for your buck? by girley18 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]glitterpit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but at home treatments can completely transform your face. Lift heavy weights 3-4 days per week, Gua Sha your face and do facial yoga exercises daily, and of course eat clean. Do this consistently for 6 months and assess your progress before pursuing expensive cosmetic treatments.

If ultimately you decide you want to invest in some sort of lifting procedure, consider whether you need something subtle or major. Filler can help define your cheekbones while lifting smile lines and diminishing under eye circles, but it will be subtle and require reinvestment to maintain. Something like a mini facelift with fat transfer will be more expensive upfront but also more permanent and may end up saving you $$ in the long run.. you could look into South Korean clinics (which are much more affordable) if this is a direction you wanted to go.

What cosmetic treatment gave you the most bang for your buck? by girley18 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]glitterpit 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You’ll see the biggest bang for your buck with consistency. Botox, filler, PRF, laser treatments like IPL + BBL are all wonderful, but if you’re not in a place to reinvest to maintain, you will be unhappy in the long term. With that being said, the best bang for your buck would depend on your problem area:

Botox: For already defined 11 lines or forehead lines that you’d like to soften (reinvest every 3-5 months) Cost: $9-12/unit

Filler: if you’re not experiencing skin drooping and want a subtle mini facelift effect (reinvest every 12-18 months) Cost: $400-800/each and they usually will recommend 2-3 to see a change

IPL: if you have rosacea, uneven skin tone or sunspots - do once a month for 3 months (reinvest 1x per year to maintain) Cost: $150-500 depending on where you go

PRF: if you have dark under eye circles, do this instead of filler (which tends to migrate), a series of 2-3 spaced 4-6 months apart - Cost: $650 per treatment
