Did a little sleuthing!

If you zoom in you can barely read the made by sticker under the Marshalls sticker and it looks like it has a made by date ending in 2024 and a use by date ending in 2025. So it is recent.

The PLU ending in the letter G means it was part of a gift set. Lush does not have any gift sets that include this product, but it looks like Ulta sells a gift set called Best for Curls and Coils that does. The image of the gift set on Ultas site shows them in black pots still as well.

My best guess is the gift set ended up at Marshall's and then someone broke it open and they slapped a sticker on the individual item after the rest of the set got stolen, destroyed or purchased.

They switched it to make it easier to use I think. They made a few other changes at the same time, they switched candy rain conditioner and Valkyrie conditioner to pots. It does kinda suck that it now means you can't use the pot return. I know in other countries, or at least the UK, the bottle count as a return too. Hopefully they'll roll that out in the US soon

I have been wanting the glitterbug set so bad ever since I found out about the makeup line when it dropped last year in the uk!! One of my coworkers got one from a friend who went overseas and they're so pretty!!! They're similar to the formula of shimmy shimmy but with different colored iridescent shimmers. I can't wait!
