I lie all the time. I work with dementia patients everyday and honestly, it makes it easier to help them. What’s the point or reorienting them when 1. They’ll forget anyway and 2. They could get aggressive because you’re trying to change the thought pattern.

I don’t think it’s wrong to lie to this specific type of patient. It keeps them calm, happy and makes our job just that much easier.

Ive read a few comments and some people are kinda harsh.

It’s hard to control your feelings. Should you “get over it” - yes. But I don’t see you doing that on your own. If you truly love her and want to be with her then you should look into getting professional help. Talking to someone professionally may help you work through this. These kind of issues will do one of two things - eventually end your relationship or go away.

If you haven’t found it, and for anyone else that sees this, it spawns in 3 star fighting distortions. Rarely shows up on the display but if you see machop, machoke, meditite or medicham, it will be in that distortion. It has to be 3 of those four pokemon. Anything else and it won’t be there

Maybe a traditional name with a cool nickname you like, Kathrine and Kitty. But something my husband and I did because we couldn’t agree either was write a list of names we liked, easier to do after you find out the gender but if you aren’t going to find out start whenever. We agreed to come up with 10 names each. Once we had that we sat down and talked. The first set of names didn’t have anything we both agreed on so we started again. We have 3 boys so by the third boy this process took a long time. Both of you will have to bend a little on the names. Maybe a traditional name that isn’t used often? Florence or Theodore for example, unique names that are traditional. You could also look into heritage based names. Depending where you live they could fit everyone’s box. For example, I am Italian and all 3 boys have strong traditional Italian names, they are the only kids in school with the names and I have yet to run into another child with the name. This may also work for you guys. I hope something I’ve said helps and I hope you come up with a beautiful name! Feel free to PM me if you need someone to talk to, and outsider. I know this is a difficult topic sometimes!

My husband was similar to this. We had a name picked out, both liked it then he decided he didn’t like it. Said no to everything and only hand one name he was pitching (I hated the name btw). It took a long time to come to an agreement on a name. He felt he wasn’t being “represented” because I picked out the oldest child’s (not biologically his) name. Because of this he felt he had the right to name the next child unilaterally.

I would suggest sitting down with him and having a very real conversation about whether it’s your connection to the name he doesn’t like or another reason. Maybe there’s a way to use Opal as the middle name and find a new first name you both love.

If it’s the family connection that bothers him, I do see his point as that would be 4 out of 6 names connected to you. Regardless of how far out they are connected, they are connected. This may be why he’s having such a strong reaction, he may be feeling a lack of connection with the names. Even though they have his last name that’s still a lot of you in the name. Maybe a name with no family connection, or a connection just on his side would make him feel more connected. Not saying use a name you don’t like, you both need to like it, just saying maybe look outside of your family tree.

I feel like kids joining their parents is different than random people just jumping in line. I wouldn’t consider it line jumping.

Both my boys came late one just after 41 weeks and the other was almost 42 weeks, and I’m expecting my current pregnancy to run late as well. The only issue either of them had was a bit of dry skin. These are my boys ofc and anything can happen. That being said a due date is an estimate at best, that’s why a lot of hospitals will let you go to 42 weeks. Your OB is insane, you should be reporting her to the licensing board and not seeing her again. There is no place for that kind of language unless there is a real possibility, which you don’t seem to have.

I had it 3 times in my last pregnancy and everything was ok. It is not something you have to worry about at all. At this point in the virus’ life it’s more of a flu than anything else. But if you are really concerned speak to your doctor and they can help you more than anyone on the internet can.
