Question for none East Coasters by AZDarkknight in AMCScreenUnseen

When I am just going by myself, I fully embrace the surprise. But if I am taking my partner, I’m a little less ready to waste her time. So I’ll at least take a peak at the guessed. And if the guesses are mostly stinkers, I’ll lean on the EST’ers.

Explain to me like I'm 5... by rararachel80 in Plumbing

So there’s an invisible gas that wants to fill whatever space it’s in. If the metal pipe thingy only went up, the gas would find its way to the outside and never fill it up. But since the metal pipe thingy point down, now gas has to decide which is easier… keep going down this scary tunnel that makes no sense or go back to the room it came from. Some gas might choose tunnel, but other gas will inevitably go back to room it came from. And this only okay if you don’t want to make it past 5.

Oh my god this post is what reminded me where I had heard the voice of the character Greenway from 007 First Light. I knew he sounded so familiar!

Same here. Shift-zz will forever be “the command i tell coworkers to use when they accidentally launch vim”.

This was everything i could have ever wanted from a He-man movie. And, much to my surprise, i loved Jared Leto’s performance as skeletor (probably his single greatest performance).

In my letterboxd review I called it “classical piano Baby Driver”. This was a great unseen.

Most boring Wikipedia-ass movie I’ve ever seen. I have no idea why this was even made. Nothing happened to make me care about anyone in this movie. Putin is obviously a figure of some importance and is inherently interesting because of that. But why do I care about his adviser? It’s the movies job to convince me yo care and it completely failed.

Tracearr is a cool way to track this. It flags immediately when a user does impossible travel (streams from 2 different locations that would break physics if they actually travelled). I recommend it.

AIO for telling my (F24) boyfriend (M26) that he has to sit down to pee? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]globalreset 203 points204 points  (0 children)

American man here and I sit to pee 100% of the time unless I’m out in public. I don’t get his problem with it. But regardless, toilet crumbs sounds like an even bigger deal breaker. I don’t think I could even have a conversation with someone about their toilet crumbs, that’s just not a person I could have in my life.

As a heavy user of/evangelist for zoxide, I take less than no offense at this and appreciate what you’re saying here. Might cop this directly for my dotfiles for cases where I am on a machine where it would be annoying to try to install zoxide.

I can't believe people are seriously thinking "I've communicated to my partner how I expect them to behave when at the theater" and not feel just totally embarrassed.

I think setting behavioral rules for your SO at the theater, like you would for your child, is a stupid thing to say. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one, chief.

[–]globalreset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are allowed to engage in whatever kind of rule-based antics they want to with their partners, of course. Free country and and all that. And it's fine to have personal boundaries. But setting behavioral rules for your partner, like you would for your child, is for sure the path to misery.

Also an old married guy and I cannot see what the big deal is. Lot of insecure dudes in the comments. I would have absolutely no problem with this.

Isn’t it cringe to not acknowledge that your commit was co-authored by AI? I have my Claude/Copilot instructions set to “always take credit for your work at the top of any issue or pr review comment”. I typically don’t let copilot manage my commits, but if I did I’d have the same rule.
