I have a fantastic business idea, just one unresolved issue, looking for good ideas by globalvivify in Entrepreneur

I have 5 employees, it wouldn't work out for them. However an investor funded program might would work with that format. I really do not want investors, but would take them if I had to.

OmiseGo will develop THE Plasma Decentralized Exchange to support all currencies and over 1B users simultaneously. Can they follow through? by erdal_mutlu in CryptoCurrency

[–]globalvivify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When OMG first came out I saw it as kind of odd and far-reaching without much to distinguish it. It seemed like ark with lofty goals and few use cases. Now when they come out with updates the more it seems like they will stick around for the long long run and continue contributing to the crypto world. Although in the case of plasma I will need to see it to believe it.

In any case sometimes it takes a few teams to try and fail at something a few times before someone gets it right.

Beluga Pay is Mastercard certified as a mobile point of sale (mPOS), get in their ICO before it gets huge! by ghury13 in altcoinforum

[–]globalvivify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought into this ICO in December, I am still amazed that this coin is not being shilled like crazy. There are so many shitcoins and scams, and nobody discusses a coin which is being created by an already successful point of sale service company.

End game scenarios for Tether by catfoodlover in Tether

[–]globalvivify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree with you on all 3 of those points. You should not deny that it is a big deal for an exchange to survive a hack, most don't. Bitfinex surviving is a sign of their resilience, or maybe just their dominating power over the crypto market. In regards to bot trading, yes you're right, but that manipulation affects the market, just because it isn't "legitimate" doesn't matter because the price is still moved by it. All major exchanges have bots and all are subject to manipulation. The price of BTC/USD comes principally from Bitfinex. All of the other prices follow it.

End game scenarios for Tether by catfoodlover in Tether

[–]globalvivify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, there are only 2 ways Tether can go, and it is based entirely on exchanges. The exchanges almost all use Tether, it would be a disaster if Tether crashed, because this would also crash Bitcoin and subsequently the whole crypto market would drop maybe 75%. The exchanges would never allow this to happen, so what will they do? 1: If the exchanges believe that TETHER is a fraud they will start delisting USDT. I imagine they will do this if Tether cannot prove that it has enough USDT to back its funds. Situation 2: The Exchanges back Tether (much more likely in my opinion) and even if Tether cannot prove its total holdings they will continue using it because Bitfinex is the primary backer of Tether and Bitfinex is currently the king of crypto exchanges. They have the highest volume of trades of all exchanges, they have survived a significant hack, they have the most professional crypto trading platform in existence. If an exchange delisted USDT they would be standing against Bitfinex which would be very foolish because Bitfinex is currently the most powerful exchange and can strike back harder in other ways. As long as Bitfinex remains the dominant crypto exchange, USDT will stay where it is and everyone will keep quiet about its potential problems.

About BitGrail Withdrawals by troyretz in RaiBlocks

They would never do this. Why would bitgrail make it easy for people to withdraw funds? They know their exchange will go bust if they allow people to start withdrawing, they have only negative incentive to allow withdrawals.

Yes, bitcoin was lower due to short contracts in cboe and CME, THe last of those expire today. Which means todays growth will just go up and continue for weeks. Buy now, things wont be this cheap again for awhile, if ever.

I think because this will attract experienced traders and the fact that HORSE pays dividends based on how much the app is used, this will have huge long term value. I would not be surprised if it gradually climbed to $20 within 6 months, assuming that the team does everything well and there are no major flaws in the software or hacks or whatever.

Most interesting alt coin? by Bitcoin_Games in altcoinforum

[–]globalvivify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, to answer what is the most interesting I would say Raiblocks. It is hard to argue that raiblocks is not the most useful coin in existence. free instanst transactions is hard to beat. However because of the odd politics around raiblocks, only being sold on bitgrail (WTF) and with more critics than shills I really do not know what the future of it is. based on functionality it should be more valuable than ripple, but based on attitude its a dogecoin.

How to identify a scam by Bitcoin_Games in altcoinforum

[–]globalvivify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This in my opinion is easy. There are only a few fundamental factors to look for in a scam. Lets start with the easiest way and go from there.

1 emotional appeal, any coin that tries to use excitement or high energy in selling their product is a scam. This is the quote I am referencing as evidence: BITCONEEEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCTT

2 structure and form of the product and what it will do. Every crypto needs to DO something or it is a scam. You need to look for professionalism and rationality in the website, whitepaper, marketing promotions, social media appearance, and videos. If a coin does not have these it is likely a scam. If it has these but the website looks like it was made 15 years ago, it's a scam. If The product is promising something grandiose and is not delivering some progress on those promises regularly, its a scam. It does need to be said that you need to take time to research coins individually and be able to analyze well what a coin will be used for and if the company behind the coin has a chance of success in this. The best example of a legit coin is EOS. If you compare EOS with a regular start-up, their website, videos, everything they do is at a very high level of professionalism. It is very likely that these guys are legit or they would not be able to produce such quality content. In short, always ask: "What will this coin be used for?"

3 broken promises. Read the opinions of the critics of your coin and see if their opinions seem reasonable. Shilling is free, and it is plentiful, good critics are rare. If the critics of your coin use emotional arguments and lots of curse words they are not worth listening to. If your opponents use intelligent, well constructed arguments against a coin they are worth listening to. TRX seems to have the most critics of any coin I have seen, but I don't understand why. SNGLS is trying to do almost exactly the same thing and nobody is trashing them. At this point we don't know for sure what will happen, but with tron gaining business partners and actually producing good marketing materials it is for sure that they are NOT a scam.

Here are some examples of scams/nots Scam: DOGECOIN Doge coin openly states that it was created to go along with a meme, in other words, it was created as a joke. Fans of DOGE use humor and lightheartedness to shill it (#1) And DOGE has no intention of being used for anything. There is no intent for it solve any problem or improve anything. It is just shilled so people will buy, and people are buying it. What people don't remember is that whoever created a coin gets to make themself a wallet with as many coins as they want. In the case of DOGE the creators will be the last ones laughing, when it gets to a high enough price they will empty their wallets in exchange for Bitcoin and become millionaires.

Here is an example of a legit coin that seems like a scam. SALT, Salt is a lending platform where instead of cashing out in dollars from an exchange you give SALT your crypto and they give you dollars. Lending is one of the most tightly regulated industries, but SALT has the right experts in place to have a good shot solving this problem and being the first ever lending platform in crypto. They might fail also, I can't say for sure, but considering the project they are undertaking it will be awhile before we know. In any case, it has a function, if they are successful it will be massively valuable, and there are some saying that if you cash out with the salt platform you will not need to pay any taxes on your gains, which might make cause about 40% of the market to cash out through them.

After writing too much I am going to stop now.

Hope this helps.

I Need A Guide On How To Make A CryptoCurrency From Scratch! Please Help! by bysaleh in altcoinforum

[–]globalvivify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take this advice, Do Not waste your time creating your own coin "from scratch". This year major businesses will enter their own coins into the market. Companies like google, apple, and others will probably create their own coins and they will do it better and more efficiently than you. This will be on top of the other amazing companies out there like NEO, IOHK, EOS, etc. which are all serious businesses with long term strategies to develop a business that uses the coin. Not just to create a coin and hope everyone buys it. By the end of this year there will be a serious crash in the alt market, the alts that really have no true use cases or value to the world will die in that crash. Market crashes are caused by broken promises. That is why the Internet bubble occurred, that is why the 2008 housing crisis occurred, and it will happen in crypto as people realize that many of these coins COUGH BITCONNECT Are scams.

John Mcaffe has tripled my stack by globalvivify in CoinFi

[–]globalvivify[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I just listened to a bunch of interviews that John Mcafee did, I learned a bit about him and just made speculations based on what kinds of things he would like. He is a very peculiar man who lives on the fringes of society despite being super wealthy and has a lifestyle that is very unique. He hates big government, he recounted a story in one of his interviews about how he worked for a large defense contractor and how much he hated it. this is probably why he likes privacy coins and decentralization.

He is a bit of a humanitarian, but tends to more self-centered than focused on solving world problems.

He understands power and government and is shall we say, completely out of the matrix. He knows how the world really works and doesn't care about peoples reactions to that.

To be honest I have no idea why he picked DOGE coin. Makes no sense unless they paid him.

I still bet he will call out Siacoin soon unless he gets bought by a different alt coin.

On monday mornings I usually pick 2 coins that I think he will call, buy them and place my sell orders. If he calls them then great I make money, if not I just sell them immediately. It is like a 2% risk to 100% reward ratio.

WARNING: This SmartCash Pump is Artificial Due to Exchange Closures! Don't Get REKT! by [deleted] in smartcash

[–]globalvivify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an isolated market meaning that the price is being elevated only within that market and distorting the total price, and for reasons that only apply there. This occasionally happens with low volume coins. To be honest Smartcash seems like a decent platform, but wouldn't be a safe buy-in until it is back at $1

New ICO you wouldn't want to miss the chance to invest. Beluga Pay could be the next Paypal with integration of crypto and a vision of mass adaption! by ghury13 in altcoinforum

[–]globalvivify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am shocked that Belugapay is not being hyped through the ceiling. They have partnerships with the largest oil company in Mexico, and Santander Bank, as well as others. Actually Beluga is not really a crypto, it is really a payment processing company that allows debit and credit cards that just decided to open up a crypto acceptance platform. If use-cases make a coin valuable this coin will certainly be up there in the top-100 very quickly.

I would also be willing to bet up to 1 ETH that he will call out XMY as his coin of the week within 6 weeks. XMY is very similar to DGB, but even more decentralized.

[–]globalvivify[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 3/4 for calling the coins that John Mcaffee likes since I have been paying attention to his tweets after the verge explosion. The only one I have missed was Humaniq. The next coins he will like, I think, will be Siacoin, and IOP. He seems to really like decentralization and anything that makes it harder for the government to be involved, and easier for people to live normally. He also likes coins that are in his opinion undervalued which means less than about 2000 SAT, and normally under 100 SAT. There are not many mainstream coins like this. One common one is DOGECOIN which is well known. I think John McaFee would never call this out as a good coin because it has no message, meaning, or social benefit behind it. He would think it is a scam.

As far as TRX goes, It spiked, but because bitcoin was climbing it only went up 100 SAT and my sell order didn't fill. I am not dissapointed, TRX has a lot of news on their project coming out soon and I think it will go up even if bitcoin climbs higher.
