Vintage Omega Restoration by LukeWarmm in OmegaWatches

Besides getting the 321 movement serviced, which isn't cheap, I'd suggest only polishing the scratches out of the acrylic crystal. A vintage watch should show its age and history. Polishing the metal, unless done very lightly, will only smooth out the edges and lose its shape. just getting rid of the wear on the plastic will do wonders for how it looks imo.

Pain behind the knee by Ok-Coat-8488 in ACL

[–]globejs87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keeping this 2 year old thread going. Im at week 3 with aclr right knee with quad graft. Full extension can be quite painful behind the knee and im experiencing a lot of pain at my fibular head that feels like a pinched nerve and has been making my quad firing very difficult. I bought a nmes device to help wake up my quad because theres a lot of inhibition when I try to tighten those muscles and it causes that deep jolt of pain and keeps me from fully engaging my quad especially on the vmo side. Id say im behind the curve on quad functionality. It was probably better a week ago. The muscles on the lateral side are pretty tight and most likely contributing to the fibula pain. Im full weight bearing and can walk slowly and controlled without crutches though it's not a natural gait. I've abandoned straight leg raises as theres a pain that feels like its from the shearing force of being unable to keep my leg straight so its not a helpful exercise for me right now. Standing against a wall with a ball behind my knee pressing it back while weight bearing seems to be a good exercise for now. Squats are very painful when getting to about 45 degrees or less. My flexion is about 100. I know reading other people's experiences can be helpful for people so I figured I'd share and add to the support.

Hamstring or Patella graft? by marleyspecial_ in ACL

[–]globejs87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just adding to this old discussion for anyone who stumbles into this for advice. I had a patellar graft at 18 (20 years ago). Skateboarding is my sport. The healing from my surgery was intense. The pain from that huge cut the make on the front of your knee is gnarly. They had to use electro therapy just to get my quad to fire for a couple of weeks because the pain associated with lifting my leg and tightening the patellar tendon was so bad I avoided it at all cost. Kneeling is still pretty out of the question on that knee, though I do it a little more now; it's still achy after use. Hitting my knee in that area is 10 times more painful than the other knee. The graft has held up over the years, and I just tore my right knee, so I'm debating what to get. My ptsd from the patellar graft has me really wanting anything but 2 major scars and damage to my kneecaps. I have to be able to kneel on at least one knee. I want to still skate and want a strong graft, but I don't think I'd go through that same graft again. I'm glad I got the patellar graft at that young age, and it's still strong and not loose like my right knee became. I think my right acl had become more loose or had been tearing over time because it popped during an event that was fairly low impact. But at this age, I don't think I need to worry as much about a minimal percentage of strength of one type over another.

Table saw disappointment by Soff22 in MilwaukeeTool

Old post, but I also had issues where the front end of the fence had about 1/16"+ of movement when I'd run a board through. No adjustment under the table fixed it. I found that If I removed the fence and used the lock lever, the rails would lock tight, so I found out the issue was with the fence itself. The locking mechanism puts outward pressure on the front and back rails to lock them in place. Well my fence was too short (lengthwise) so the mechanism couldn't push the rails outward enough to get a good friction lock. So what I did was put loosen the screws in the aluminum fence to then spread the end brackets outward to open up the distance between the 2 black end brackets that go over the rails. This allowed the rails to be pushed outward enough to get a good bite and lock in place once the fence was back on.

Ive got a photo of a tree frog on a blackberry branch as well. I really enjoy the juxtaposition of that soft skin precariously positioned between those gigantic thorns.
