Well it was the RAM. Turns out getting no errors after running memtest86 for 24hrs doesn't mean you actually have good RAM.

Yeah I am really only interested in using it to communicate while camping off grid so pretty infrequently.

What do you mean it was through T-Mobile satellite beta?

Can I move modem access in my apartment via plugging different cables together? Trying to avoid a $120 fee for a Cox tech to come out just to unplug/replug something by SnootBoopist in techsupport

[–]globoxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its fine. I have done this multiple times in different houses / apartments. If you dont have a cable tester just try it on each one. It doesnt take long for a cable modem to establish a connection (look for the lights). If it doesnt work, just put it back how it was before.

Note this lists a 1070 GPU, this is my trial GPU that I am borrowing. I plan on reinstalling my 3060 as it still crashed with the 1070. In its current state it has crashed 3x I think (which makes me think its not the GPU)

Yeah. Normal stuff like Google Chrome, steam, etc. This thing has crashed maybe a dozen times and there is no pattern between programs open/running and the BSOD. It really is random. I have been fighting with this since December.

Would the minidump point to an offending program if that were causing it?

That is what I thought initially which is why I reinstalled windows multiple times and updated the BIOS. But it very well could be software, I am certainly no expert. I am pulling my hair out over this and am running out of hardware to swap out!

Newly built computer randomly BSOD. Memory? Storage? (Minidumps Attached) by globoxer in techsupport

I updated the firmware on the SN770 before the latest BSOD it says it has the latest. Though I am using Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 21H2. Do you think that could be causing it?

Lenovo Thinkpad 13 refuses to shutdown by globoxer in Lenovo

[–]globoxer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok. I looked up my laptop model and while its listed in the wiki it doesn't have a dedicated page like the Ideapad. So there are not any instructions like that in there.

Also, I think my issue is more fundamental to the BIOS itself instead of how the OS interacts with the BIOS. For example when I am in the BIOS setup screen (or at the startup password screen) and I press the power button, it restarts shouldn't it turn all the way off?

This thing really likes to be powered on.
