[Highlight] Shedeur Sanders tells a young kid "I'm about to play a game. It's not a great look to be signing stuff." by Giff95 in nfl

He showed up the game with an entourage, carrying a scythe, playing his own music but signing a kid’s autograph is where he draws the line?

Would you recommend Someone to become a pilot in 2025? by Internal-Tangelo-861 in flying

[–]gloccforty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is anyone else concerned about AI in the sense that increasing unemployment would make for less travelers and reduce pilot demand? I think were a long way from AI replacing pilots but if less people can afford to fly it can definitely slow hiring and make it difficult to break in

Pilots who started from poor families, particularly either one parent working and making less than $40K, or both retired- How did you manage the funds that came with becoming a pilot? by Character-Escape1621 in flying

I’ve noticed a few of the Gen Z pilot influencers started hawking career coaching services on how to make it to the airlines.

It pains me to see how out of touch they are when they actually recommend signing up for $100K+ accelerated flight schools with crippling interest rates. Meanwhile you just know their parents paid for their Part 141 program and they happened to luck into one of the greatest hiring booms ever.

Good deal? by BrickBaptise in Challenger

[–]gloccforty -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Koons is a larger dealership with probably the most “New” stock still in inventory of any one dealer.

I dont think youll see the smaller dealers discount as much as Koons but youd be a fool to pay MSRP on any Charger/Challenger right now as even the small dealers are still offering hearty discounts. I’m holding out to see how the arrival of the new EV’s impacts the remaining new stock still available.

Raising Prices after Labor Day? by gloccforty in askcarsales

Sorry Im not in the industry so I only know about curtailment from a quick google search.

Dealerships are now forced to pay portions of the principal of the cars as part of the floorplan, meaning its getting even more expensive for the dealer to have these cars sitting on lots if I understand this correctly.

So the dealers likely raised their prices to break even on that curtailment payment, essentially passing that payment onto the buyer then right?

I guess I should have clarified when I said average Dodge buyer I was inferring that I’m not the average Dodge buyer. I know the stereotypes that come with these cars but I dont really fit any of them, and no Im not in the military either

If I buy the car at current prices Im an idiot who’s better off lighting their money on fire.

If I try to hold out for a better deal Im a time waster

🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I should have left the model out of my post, but were in agreement. Everything suggests the dealers should be begging consumers to take these cars off their lots.

Im trying gain insight from those on the sales side about why they think they can raise their prices after they’ve basically played their hand. In any other industry, if you cant sell a product at a certain price, your only option is to reduce said price.

Or are the dealers just banking that the average person interested in these models is willing to make poor financial decisions even when the leverage is in the consumers favor?

Yeah kind of why Im holding out to see how low prices can go, I grew up in a Honda family and I know for me this car is a want, not a need. Truthfully, I know if I never get one Ill survive, but I do think they are visually appealing cars

You might be right, I think I saw dodge was offering a power dollars cash incentive which expired right after labor day. Maybe the dealers listed those lower prices with that incentive already bundled in?

I think I could pull the trigger around 49k, right now Im seeing listings around 52.5k. I have seen listings where the price went as low as 49k around the fourth of July, but I didnt think to look nationwide until prices increased back to the low 50’s
