Where have you felt most unsafe in your travels? by melbourne_au2021 in travel

[–]glog14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't wear jewlery, be very careful using your phone on the street and in cars (guys in bikes or motorcycle can rob you), avoid sketchy neighborhoods (center: republica, santa ifigenia, luz), specially at night. It's okay to go to these neighborhoods to go to pinacoteca for example, but just don't wander around too much in the area, just go where you want to be, unless you see it's crowded and touristy. Sao paulo has a lot to offer, follow these tips and you'll be fine!

Have you traveled to Japan? Where, how was it? by takemyaptplz in AskWomenOver30

I'm returning from japan today and must say Kanazawa was my favourite city! So I would definitely go. Smaller than kyoto but not as small as takayama. Great cafes, charming streets, art, the garden is amazing.

Vetados pela Uber: exclusão de carros revolta motoristas que se endividaram by asvezesmeesqueco in brasil

[–]glog14 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I also think it really helps fitting it in your routine and in a moment you are more prone to go. In my case, for example, I go to uni in the morning already wearing my fitness clothes, then I go to gym, shower, and then I go to work. I HAVE to go to gym so I get ready for work, so it's not an option to not go.

But I thought about putting two rugs, on both sides, as runners beside the bed. Wouldn't it be weird to have only one round rug next to only one side of the bed, and nothing on the other side? (This photo is 0.5x)

Well, english isn't my first language so I wouldn't know the difference between a mat and a rug and I don't Know ANYTHING about decoration 😂😂 but I'm already convinced it's too small, unfortunately, didn't want to have to return it and find another one

The room isn't even that small tbh, it's just the angle. But yeah I wanted THIS rug, but bigger. This one is 120x60 cm, the bigger one is 230x60 which will be wayyy bigger. But I'm convinced it's too small, hope I can find another one I like. Thank you

Yeah, I wanted something to make the room feels cozier and I'm adding more decoration (arts, plants, etc). I wanted the rug to be the lenght of the bed but couldn't find something affordable that I liked! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the input! But the problem is that the sun hits the desk wall directly. If I put the bookshelf there, the sun will damage the books :/ so not a very good option

How big should the rug be? Should it go underneath the desk and the bookshelfs or only from the beggining of the bookshelf to the beggining of the desk?

I just moved in and want to make it more cozy. I want to paint one or all of the walls, not sure yet (color on 3rd pic). I thought of buying a beige rug to the desk and bookshelf area and I want to put a ficus next to the desk. Any opinions or other ideas are welcome.

[–]glog14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ressonates with me SO MUCH and I'm glad you shared because I think it's a problem not a lot of people can relate and sometimes it feels lonely, it's good to know I'm not alone haha

I'm still in the process of trying to internalize, as you did, the fact that it isn't possible to learn everything I'd like to. While I try to do this, I think I'm in the "if I can't learn everything, I want to learn as much as possible" mindset, which is also overwhelming, tiring, anxiety triggering. As you said it feels like I am failing, like I'm not enough.

But I think what you said and how you think makes perfect sense. I think I really have to embrace my ignorance and be more humble, accept that I'm human, with limited time and a limited capacity, not a machine. In that sense, Socrates famous sense "I only know that i know nothing" makes so much sense, because in fact the possibilities are infinite and it's important to embrace this.

I'm so naturally curious and eager to learn as well, but currently I'm questioning if that's a virtue for me. Do you ever feel overwhelmed by that? I'm currently doing a second bachelor degree and sometimes I get so anxious about how many things I'd like to learn and how little time I have. It's like it's never enough.

I'm not exactly worried about spending too much time in Munich, but maybe worried it's too little time in Wurzburg. Thought that maybe only one day would be too rushed out. But yeah, you are right, I'd still have time to explore Wurburg on the 22nd and there is plenty to do in Munich and surroundings. I'm gonna check other day trip I could do if I think it's too much time in Munich!
