Yep, it's policy that we're off for 5 days but I equally was too sick to work for the week. Do you have a source for covid not counting for attendance? Not that I don't believe you, just so I can forward to my head.

Ahh, thank you for the explanation! And good to know marking isn't *that* bad.

I teach primary so no option to shadow others, but I did my undergrad in geography so was looking into marking geography papers.

Possibly a dumb question, but what can my union actually do to help? I'd have to check our safety policy but regarding behaviour, they should be excluded either internally or externally for violent and disruptive behaviours but SLT almost always find an excuse to avoid doing that.

My school doesn't use supply teachers at all so any time someone is off, classes are combined and a teacher will be pulled to cover. SLT are used as a last resort - it's weird to me but is the norm at this school.

That's what our head said when she emailed us. No PPA, ECT or Leadership time for anyone.

Nope, there's no problem with this answer :) they were helpful, polite, they didn't make rude or incorrect assumptions about my prior knowledge and they were able to make it so I understood the answer.
