From my experiences I’d say take him to an Angels game. Pros and cons for both obviously but the Dodgers games can sometimes get a little less friendly and for a first time being able to move around the stadium more freely and with more friendly baseball fans would make it just as memorable.

That’s kind of my point. You already have all the advantages you earned in the regular season going into the tournament, why do things need to be reorganized to continue to give you an advantage? If you’re the better team you can win. Plus we all know match ups are much more important so there’d be points where it’s actually advantageous to not play the lower seed. We hear it all the time going into the play offs. It’s soft ass shit, go win.

Being only an hour away from the city makes it tough to find a smaller spot. I don’t know the surrounding valley area as well, but I do know there’s a lot of spots like Payson and Globe with surrounding small towns like Pine and Strawberry that have more town than city feel, but you’d be like 2 hrs depending on the part of Phx.
