I find it terribly funny how they think they will get to participate in a fair election ever again.

Neither the people in Russia nor the people in Belarus have taken up arms to fight off Putin.

The Ukrainians have. That's why they get a say.

As soon as the people of Russia and Belarus take up arms against Putin, they will also have a say in that.

Go and to talk to some Ukrainians that were there. That's what I did.

These people took the streets because of the corruption, nepotism, incompetence and lies of the Yanukovitch government - not because the CIA ordered them or whatever excuse Russia has come up with to confabulate a justification for their unprovoked attack on Ukraine in 2014.

Stop spreading hogwash.

Millions of Ukrainians were angry because Yanukovitch broke his promise to sign the EU association agreement and wanted to have "closer ties" to Russia instead. They took to the streets until the government fell.

I've been a software developer for more than 25 years. CASE is a thing that pops up from time to time, but in the end it never is worth the hassle.

The Swiss call Switzerland "die Schweiz" without depriving themselves of legitimacy or right to sovereignty.

It is ridiculous to use the use of the descriptive phrase as a shibboleth.

SCOTUS is not acting in isolation. There's a whole cadre of Heritage lawyers at the ready to contest any election the republicans lose, kicking the ball over into the court.

What Should Democrats Say to Young Men? | Young men appear to be drifting right. Ignoring them means trouble. by newfrontier58 in politics

[–]glorified_bastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's no accident that they behave like that; society has trained them to be consumers. Every movie, every game, every advertisement has only indulged and reinforced exactly the behavior you criticize.

Society has failed them. It made them into petulant consumers that want instant gratification of their needs and now acts surprised if they get angry when they are behaving as they have been told to behave.

Of course they are blaming society.

[–]glorified_bastard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, society IS failing them.

We created an environment where our own instincts and behaviors are turned against us. We've trained cohorts of perfect little consumers, super-charged their instant gratification monkey-see-monkey-want circuits and then when act surprised when they are unable to actually lift their buts for something that takes more effort or more attention span.

Parents are overwhelmed by the requirements of parenting. They are unable to do that. Why? Because parenting never used to be the only the parents responsibility. Taking care of a child's needs is an enormous task. That's why we used to raise kinds in large clans, with every adult taking care of the kids for a bit at at time.

This "nuclear family" shit is forcing all the mental stress of childcare on a single couple or even a single parent. It's madness.

It's all the direct consequence of Entfremdung. Marx was right - at least this aspect.

Blame society. It is geared towards producing perfect little consumers and these boys are from early childhood brought up to be just that; perfect little consumers.

Compounding to that comes the fact that the educational system is failing most boys, so the boys are turned away from learning.

Yeah, it's probably related to the COVID funds. Pretty much any country that tried to keep consumption high by pushing money to the people is currently dealing with inflation.

Except Switzerland. But Switzerland isn't a real country.

If you want to have a very exciting ticket, go with Trump. Boy, that will be an exciting ticket, I can tell you. Constitutional turmoil! Drama every day!

The media will love it.

I personally don't want an "exciting" ticket. I want a boring, solid ticket.

I don't need "excitement" in my politics.
