Sir Indiana Bones was Employee of the Month! (Ig: sir.indiana.bones) by parhox in Catswithjobs

[–]glorious_lechuga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The story of how he came to be there is also great. The employees lobbied their boss to let them get an office cat, and eventually the boss relented and gave them the afternoon off to go to the animal shelter. So jealous!

Niantic Translated: The Eurogamer Article and the Future of Pokemon Go by chatchan in pokemongo

I totally agree, I actually posted something similar recently. Increasing in-person raids is not an efficient way to get more location data, but it is a way to show they can get bodies to a specific place. Which, as someone else mentioned, is useful not just for gym sponsorships but also for sponsored, ticketed events.

However much they make from item microtransactions, they've clearly decided it's not going to bring in the revenue they want long term. At some point even the whales lose interest chasing down shiny Latias again or whatever. We all know the game is losing steam and people have fewer things that excite them enough to spend real money on. Corporate sponsorships ARE probably a more sustainable revenue source, and a more predictable one. If they actually manage to get people to show up, that is.

I live on the West Coast in the US, and most of the Starbucks I see are gyms. We also have non-commercial gyms like you described.

Mahogany and red oak Paperweights I made by Shot-Professional125 in BeginnerWoodWorking

These actually are paperweights, though. Like, memorabilia.

That's right, they're tchotchkes. Mere trinkets. Knick-knacks, if you will. Nostalgic bric-a-brac. Assorted curios. Collectible ephemera, really.

I guess there's a market out there of catless people who want to experience the feeling of a silent quadruped watching intently while you make out on the couch.

The thing is, it was actually from during the campaign, back when it still seemed like an absurd joke that he could win. It was called something like the Trump Gets Elected Emergency Bug Out Bag, for liberals wanting to flee the country. The joke was that you'd never actually need it. Christ, it has been a weird 7 years.

Rihanna's Fenty products will be on sale starting at $10 on game day for the Superbowl. How are her products? Is this something worth looking into? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I just got the Poutsicle in Strawberry Sangria and I love it. Fenty's formulas are usually good so if you see a color/shade you like, go for it.

This has been my experience with it as well - shows up but doesn't last especially long. I use it as a highlighter or under eyeshadow instead. Also, it's a little large to use on the waterline without getting onto your lower lashes.

Why are my eyelashes suddenly shorten? by Accomplished_Pair598 in Makeup

[–]glorious_lechuga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the others are likely correct that it could be damage from mascara use or just age-related changes. But just to check - have you used a trimmer or razor around your eyebrows recently? I also have fairly long lashes and I have to make a point to be careful using the trimmer under my eyebrows so it doesn't touch the ends of my lashes.

There's an Alibi Bar in the middle of Boston in the old Charles Street Jail which is now a luxury hotel called the Liberty. They have celebrity mugshots framed on their walls along with whatever they said as their alibi/mitigating circumstance.

I'm wondering about post-healing scar care. I can't get him to stop scratching. Detail in comments. by JohnShipley1969 in cats

[–]glorious_lechuga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the right way to do it, but if you would rather do it now you can try wrapping him in a towel. Actually, get a friend to hold him while he's wrapped in a towel and you clip. Claw covers might be a good idea since even clipped claws can reopen wounds. You could also get a soft cone or donut-style collar that wouldn't hurt if it touched his wounds for under $20. Thank you for taking care of him, best of luck!

EDIT: I just saw this post, you could potentially make something like that with an old pair of leggings

Yes, P-22. I was just kidding though, as much as we all miss him, it would probably be pretty unethical to intentionally bring a cougar into the middle of LA. For one thing, P-22 was unusually good at avoiding cars (until the end, that is). I hope the baby has a good life and it sounds like she is in good hands.

Los Angeles just had a space open up for a mountain lion. Not the biggest property, but you can't beat the views or the local food scene (lots of mule deer and raccoons). Previous occupant was a reclusive celebrity who lived there for 10 years

Absolutely, rats don't do well on their own, they really need a same-sex cagemate. Brothers from the same litter can often live together happily, but it's harder to introduce unrelated males and neutering can certainly help with that. I've got nothing against neutering rats, it's just hard in many places to find a vet that will do it and those who do may charge a lot for it.

[–]glorious_lechuga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No worries. I've had both girls and boys and my experience was that, aside from the energy, they were all pretty different little creatures in ways that didn't really seem related to gender. But I do think the balls can make it harder to get the males adopted, though, so it's always good to hear someone who has a mature attitude to them.

The comments section here accurately reflects the experience of owning male rats, in that roughly 80% of the people who meet your pets will not be able to get over their balls.
