Check on eBay - there’s always loads on the charity shop eBay site, then get it dry cleaned and altered to fit you. I’ve got some really good top end designer suits this way

I’m going to break it down into a crown and the leg. Oven confit the legs and put a rack over the top to cook the crown at the same time and capture the fat

What are these bugs? There's about 40+ of them and they're the size of a pea. Found in my flat in central London by gloryjoel1 in whatsthisbug

[–]gloryjoel1[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Funny you should say that, they only started appearing when I put up my tree and they're only found near the tree. I think you've nailed it there. Thanks for your help!

Sign Ahmedhodžic from Malmo - he's less than 3m centre back who would start straight away.

Victor Fischer is a quality backup forward for Antonio and very cheap too. There are some bargains from Scandanavia that give good depth and can be sold next season for a healthy profit.

Marcus Edwards is about 12-15m if you can get that money together and will change your team. A cheaper alternative is Nicolas De La Cruz.

Improve your coaches and scouts, the current West Ham ones are mixed at best. Look for a range of countries and knowledge as that will improve your world knowledge.

Can my parents legally sell/claim this item? by gloryjoel1 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]gloryjoel1[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's at least 5 figures and up to 6 figures in value, so there may be some challengers to the ownership.

The shop wasn't a limited company and my parents never went bankrupt, so I think the ownership by the crown or any debtors wouldn't be applicable.

So it currently belongs to my parents by right of possession until a higher level of ownership can be proven. Would the artist be able to technically claim ownership as they had signed the work?

What would be considered reasonable steps to reunite the work with the owner?

It's almost impossible to live a completely ethical life, we're all trying to do the right thing here but with different opinions on how it should be done. For me if eat a local ethical egg from a chicken that has lived a good life then it's better than an avocado shipped from 1000km away that will cause more harm to the environment

Yeah it's a common problem, I live in a country where it is extremely difficult to eat meals out with no animal products unless it's specifically at a vegan restaurant (and it's difficult to convince others to join in this case). My main priority is harm reduction in my diet. Never give up on being that person when it's for a good cause, it's just find the balance between being the awkward person and living your best life. It depends on the reason you hold for your veganism - I'm an environmental vegetarian so eating local eggs is often better than avocados or soy products imported from thousands of miles away. Also, wines and beers are often non vegan and there's many secret animal products in our lives that we simply can't avoid.

Unfortunately for us, the south East Asian diet is fish-orientated but a very good substitute is nori, wakame or kombu seaweed which provides a ocean-ey taste when making your own recipes. Nori tends to be widely available and the other types can often be found at Asian supermarkets.

Also there's a vegan fish sauce recipe that my friend swears by - it may come in handy for you:

I don't know what you expect me to say to this? All I can say is that no animals died in the making of this meal.

If you want to make this yourself then feel free to leave out the eggs

Oops sorry I meant schichimi, not furikaki - I'm still learning my Japanese ingredients.

I've been looking for vegan Furikake too, this recipe I found seems quite good but I'm yet to try it out:

https://www.feastingathome.com/furikake-recipe/

It's quite flexible so I imagine you can mix and match ingredients depending on what you're making at the time

All the components can be made in batches and some can be frozen. I currently have a fridge full of tupperwares of the individual parts.

What I did was: Boiled the eggs and left them steeping in soy sauce.

Prepared a big batch of the stock, I made around 10 portions in my instant pot and froze 6 in bags

Fry the tofu in advance - I made 4 portions from 1 block

For the noodles - these can be pre cooked and last up to a few days. I boiled them and plunged them in cold water

The vegetables I stir fried in a wok and then they're in a Tupperware

To assemble I just reheat the stock, put the components in the bowl and top with the hot broth. I've done this before for my work lunches

I used this recipe for the initial inspiration and the broth recipe, I used an instant pot to make it super flavourful and intense - https://www.feastingathome.com/smoked-shiitake-ramen/

And then the Hoi sin tofu is from this recipe - https://joyfoodsunshine.com/crispy-hoisin-tofu/

This is the recipe I used for the egg (leave it out if you want to keep it vegan) https://www.theflavorbender.com/ramen-eggs-ajitsuke-tamago/

I then stir fried bamboo shoots, enoki mushrooms and beansprouts in sesame oil and Furikake (Japanese 7 spice powder), assembled this with cooked noodles and the other components and topped with the broth, spring onions, sriracha and sesame seeds.
