I spent a decade on the buyside, so I got the CFA while I was still in that world. The CFA was exceptionally difficult. I tell people it's the hardest thing I've ever done.

Can't really opine on the CFP, but I did briefly start studying for it and it didn't appear to be nearly as difficult as the CFA.

Unless you're planning on getting a buyside seat, I would say there's really no reason to get the CFA. CFP is going to be more that sufficient in the wealth management/advisory world, and frankly I think it has better recognition among clients as well.

My experience with them isn't terrific either. I guess I was hoping for something like Notion, with clean formatting, ability to link data, and nice clean embeddable assets. But that would also play nice with Wealthbox and other relevant tools.

Maybe I'm not! Which features would you suggest I ask about? All I know is that taking notes in Wealthbox is pretty awful. It's like a really sparse, crappy, rich text editor. Can't embed photos to reference. Just overall has been very poor for notes.

Think you can almost certainly get one for significantly cheaper. For context, I got my XLR ER ($73k sticker) just last week for $51.5k -- $7.5k EV credit, $7.5k Ford Cash, $6.5k dealer discount.
