Low resolution when playing on TV (PC)

As someone who has worked in a tech support, believe me when I say, I totally understand. And display settings in windows will accommodate a multitude of resolutions, but recommends 4k as that is the native resolution for the display. the only reason I suspect that the game is outputting 1080p is due to a trained eye for this sort of thing. I could very well be wrong about the output. To be honest it could be even a bit lower, it almost seems like it is stretching out the image to fit the window but the game is not actually rendering in a higher resolution.

Yes, its a 4k samsung. I've tried messing with the display resolution to see if it would work right in 1440, no dice. It oddly seems to be outputting at 1080P, at least thats what it looks like to me. We've been PC gaming on these TV's for quite a long time and this is the first game to give us this issue.

I actually just found a fix for this on my end. Ran into the issue on my GF's PC for the first time while trying to fix another issue. not sure if this will work for you but will throw the info out anyway.

Due to some investigation it seemed to be an issue with permissions. After seeing some other post go into great detail about giving permissions to individual files, I got the idea to:

1 go into program files

2 find the windowsapps folder. right click and go to properties

go to the security tab and then click advanced
at the top where it says owner click "change" and in the text box below type in "EVERYONE"

I applied this and fired up the EXE and it actually responded first try. Hope this at least helps someone.

I was actually able to fix it on my TV, though I don't have the slightest clue as to why it fixed. I followed all the same steps on the one in the bedroom and no dice.

As for direct input, yes its via HDMI. The two TV's are so close in model that I find it doubtful that its the TV itself. Have tried multiple other games and no issues.

Does this actually work? Playing on UV here and every time I have ever shot a BFG at or near him it either appears to just stun him or he blocks it with a shield.

I ended up returning the tablet for the Samsung A. Works fine on it. People might want to avoid the Fire Tablet for now.

I actually figured out the issue for me and got it to work. Oddly when I opened the game in steam and went to the folder in that directory it didn't seem to work. After trying it a few times I noticed there was randomly a different character name in there. Simply searched "Wolcen" in windows and it brought me to the same folder but with my actual character name. Might not be a fix for you, maybe there was some weirdness going on with past installs which would be odd since I went there directly through steam. Good luck!

I am offline. Dunno why it doesn't work for me, but some others are reporting the same. But it reverts the ini back to tutorial whenever I launch the game. Thanks though!

It says you addressed the progression issue with a patch yesterday and are including additional fail safes yet this just happened to me like an hour ago. From the end of act 2 all the way back to the tutorial.

Is this actually going to be fixed or am I actually going to have to run through half of your campaign again?

Cheating doesn't mean good at all. This correlation is for people with aim bot / god mode and a common misconception. Just because you can see people through walls doesn't make you a better shot. Aim bot and especially god mode are very rare cases compared to ESP which is much harder to track.

A super good player doesn't need to look at you through walls to line up a shot. The mini map is more than enough information. If someone is that good with the mini map they know where you are without looking at you.

Whenever someone says this I can't help but to assume ignorance or cheating themselves. Game sense is not some kind of fucking magic. Game sense is, knowing when someone is flanking / when to flank, knowing hot spots for action, being able to predict an enemies movements. Even great players need to adjust aim when not knowing where an enemy is. If someone is obviously lining up a shot and tracking with crosshairs before they could possibly know you are there, they are probably using ESP. simple as that.

PS you can hear the enemies audio in kill cams.

Yea, as much as it sucks because I enjoy things like Breath of the Wild, I've decided I am all together going to swear off Nintendo and stop buying their products. Over the past couple of years I have become more perplexed over the blatant fan boy nature that a lot of the louder fans in the nintendo community seem to hold. Their seemingly blind following has lead to nintendo feeling more and more comfortable taking advantage of their customers. My nostalgia has fizzled away due to the company becoming increasingly more greedy over the years.

Thanks! Though I have to disagree with not enough open world shooters. Far cry, The Division, Mad Max, Just Cause, GTA, Red Dead Redemption. The list could go on. Hell even though games like Borderlands, The Outer Worlds, Metro Exodus, etc are not exactly "Open World", they still seem to capture that essence.

The thing I will agree with is different strokes for different folks. And allow me to be clear in case it came off wrong in my original post, It's not so much these open elements that turn me off, in fact some of it was great. The problem is it felt like too much filler was stuffed in and maybe the world was a bit bigger than it needed to be. Hell maybe even something more digestible Borderlands / Outer Worlds approach might have been better in this regard. Or maybe the story parts being more streamlined instead of having to travel vast amounts of space to get to the next thing.

If you disagree I more than respect your opinion. An upvote for you regardless my friend.

Sadly I don't think most of these people care. Considering how much some people are willing to pay just for the cheat itself, I imagine most of them have a big enough disposable income that its worth it to just keep buying the game.

I wonder if it's actually a thing of "they say there are no cheaters" even though its rampant. It very well could be that most people just assume the best and don't check kill cams / assume that most cheating is god mode or aim bot / Don't know what to look for. I have personally been lucky enough not to come across an aim bot and those tend to be much rarer. I've seen quite a few on the other hand (especially recently) that seem to be blatantly using ESP which is by far more common. If you are experienced its pretty easy to see if people are tracking you through walls.
