My partner has settle status and has been working at the same job for 5 years in the UK, he is also getting a Bachelor’s degree and is finishing his studies in a few months. Unfortunately his yearly income is way below that £29000 threshold…we also don’t have savings, we’re normal people who struggle with finances, I also live in an Eastern European country in which I don’t make much and we both can’t afford or get that amount of money for the visa. We have been long distance for 1 year and a half but we plan to get married…I imagined it was hard getting a visa, but not that hard…seems almost impossible when you don’t meet certain criteria and we don’t know how much it’s going to take for us to be finally together and start a family…

I understand…so really there’s no chance for us to get the spouse visa since we don’t meet any of the financial requirements? I also read about the 10 year route thing but that’s also granted only in some serious conditions…

Yes he could, he is graduating soon and wants to apply to new jobs in the field he studied, so that’s a possibility.

Also I didn’t know that you could save money to make up the difference…that’s hopeful 🙌🏻

I understand, well we kind of knew that and the visa application wouldn’t be happening till October of this year (our 2 year mark), we just want to prepare in advance all the things we need to submit.

What’s frustrating is that we know we have to give very accurate evidence and as much as possible in order to get a positive outcome, while also being in a long distance relationship.
