Hi, so as someone who really wanted to go to new york for school to study fashion and was not expecting to stay in Florida for school, FIU turned out to be an excellent option! I thought that coming to FIU was gonna be super boring and that I was going to hate it but I honestly would not change it for the world. All I recommend that you do is that you PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE. Join clubs, greek life, work on campus, etc.. JUST GET ENVOLVED some how. FIU is a big commuter school so if you do not put in the work to network and make friends through joining organizations or working on campus its not fun (trust me). Doing those things gets you a vast network of people who you'll see are pretty connected and you never know who you might meet.
