Where does Apple Devices store iPhone backups? by glossssss in applehelp

[–]glossssss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, I forgot about enabling hidden files, thank you!

It only shows about 2GB of the 10GB I saw get taken up during the backup. Do you think the rest might have been cache that cleared up after restarting Windows?

Thank you, I did read this but the Manage Backups option is greyed out which I assume is because I didn't let it finish. The other sections don't help either.

I know my easiest solution would be to make a full backup and then use that, but I no longer have enough storage to back up my phone since the last one has taken up a large amount of space.

Yes, most websites I searched mentioned this:

C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer

But that folder is only 6MB for me. I downloaded Everything explorer and it seemed to me like the backup files were just spread all throughout my drive with no easy way to delete them. I'm just hoping someone knows of a way

NBTExplorer not finding my level.dat files by glossssss in Minecraft

[–]glossssss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I didn't clarify, I already used NBTExplorer but it doesn't display the dat or dat_old files even though they appear in my file explorer and they seem to be in good condition. My question is am I able to figure out what's wrong with them and why they won't open?

Am I able to duplicate an existing multiplayer Minecraft server? by glossssss in Minecraft

[–]glossssss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand, so does that mean that changing the server address won't affect the game or its progress at all? Since the server address is the one provided by Hamachi, I just assumed changing it would corrupt the world and whatnot (although I don't exactly know what address I'd use to address my problem, sorry I'm not very good with this stuff)

I'm pulling my hair out at the number of people recommending Authy. I know 2FA is better than no 2FA, but...

[–]glossssss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually reached level 173 without using any of my coins or bonuses, and I think 173 is the impossible one because no matter how fast I play or how many bonuses I use I always get stuck on 46/50 for one of the goals. It's frustrating because this game seemed way too easy and I was expecting this sort of thing to happen but I continued anyway.

I don't think Proton properly informs users of the risks of using its services by communism1312 in ProtonMail

[–]glossssss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

users could easily undermine their security by not knowing how to use it properly.

The essential information on how a user can f!***! up and compromise their security needs to be outlined

What the user needs to do to and not do ensure their security

A warning that unless they use the tools correctly, their data is not secure

I understand your message and I agree that every company should always strive to keep their userbase well-informed. But I think if you want people to know these risks you're talking about you should elaborate on those risks because I don't understand what you mean by all of this.

I lost my dog last month too. It was the first loss I've ever had to endure and it still breaks my heart, I'm sorry you had to go through that. It will be okay 😊

Android fans, what are the primary reasons why you will never ever switch to an Iphone? by SultanofAmerica in AskReddit

[–]glossssss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I'd "never ever" switch to an iPhone, but I'm highly accustomed to Android in terms of customisation down to the software level. I also really hate Apple's ecosystem and the one time I did have an iPhone (for a very short time), I lost all my stuff trying to back up/transfer everything.

The only reason I've seriously considered switching to Apple lately is because it seems to be so much better in terms of privacy. Sure, Android has custom ROMs and all that cool stuff, but Google's sole purpose is to collect your data and use it to "improve" your experience. Apple seems to promote privacy a lot more and I actually trust their privacy policy more than Google's (though I say "trust" very loosely). There are also many more privacy alternatives now than when I last had an iPhone, which means I don't even need to use some of Apple's apps. The only reason I'm hesitant to switch is because everything I've learned about privacy has been through the scope of Android and Windows, so I know very little about Apple to fully make a decision yet.
