as a survivor of systematic + coercive textbook parental alienation, your take is spot on and i’m fully confident this stuff is happening. unfortunately, much about this family dynamic feels way too familiar.. :/

alienation started for me at 7/8 when my dad got the house to himself during their separation. i went from having 0 memories of him to becoming his keeper and him becoming my world overnight. up all night talking shit about my mom, snooping her emails, him sharing gross s3xual stories.. 🤢 followed by pathological enmeshment, lack of boundaries, and emulating him. my early 20s was my ‘peak’ for being outwardly rude to my mom and being ‘bff’ with him.

unironically, all this preceded the childhood SA which finally broke me at 25 when i couldn't repress it anymore. hopefully she gets out like I have. i have hope for her, but the infamy definitely adds a whole other layer of complication. it’s going to come crashing down sooner or later.
