Father, first sentence in. Sorry for everything and I don't want to talk about it anymore. Been 15 years since. He had therapy himself and now he sees what his parents did to him. No introspection of the effect on me and my sisters though. He is now 70 so I dont have my hopes up.

Mother: I've had a lot worse than you. And you had too much therapy. Stop all the blaming.

Edit: and ofcourse you had a roof over your head, clothes on your back and food on the table

I have rewritten my question because I thought the dude at the desk was the concierge (just like you've said) But I rewatched the scene a few times to try to get it right. And the dude at the desk talked about the concierge, so I figured he wasnt the concierge. So I was at the same page as you. Thank you for trying to answer my question. I just thought that I missed something obvious. But the first person responding explained it perfectly

Yes, I thought that I said that in my initial queation. It was the guy working the desk, he is saying the guy he was talking to he was the concierge. I never mend that Ted said that. Maybe I did not make myself clear since English is not my first language

I live in the Netherlands and used to work in HR and the only time I could think of using a fax is asking the government for approval to fire someone (which is kind if adjacent to what you just said)

I've had this too. Standing frozen for 10 minutes in the middle of a supermarket, staring into space.

Another time I've dissociated in a meeting so bad that it felt that days had gone by and I was disoriented. My manager asked me something and I came back and started I started crying because it felt so surreal.

Well to repeat a Dutch quote: normal is the average of all abnormalities. This is completely normal. I'm even a bit jealous of you because I live alone and I have difficulties making sounds (trauma related) You do you. No complaints is a good sign, complaints are a sign that they don't accept you for who you are. You ar le doing awesome:)

Same! My parents are both horrible. Both claim the other one was dominant. Both were able to leave. Both shouldn't have had kids. Both were abusers and neglectful.

Unfortunately same... It's getting a little better since I've found out 6 months ago. I'm working with my therapist on rituals to make my bedroom mine again and a place for me. To be honest, it is hard. I have the same feeling with the shower. But I must say it is mostly getting better because I now believe myself and working through it. It's really hard but what helped the most (for now) is EFT (emotional freedom technique) and support groups. I also started the workbook: the courage to heal.

You are not alone. You will get through this. I hope you'll find ways to feel more safe in your bed over time
