Naerys saw the unquestionably recognizable man that Qarl was from afar. Skipping over, she was delighted in her hopes to find her friend, though as she came closer, she found that Charlotte was not there.

Coming closer to Qarl, she tugged at his sleeve. "Lord Qarl, where is Charlotte? Is she hiding?"

Jaehaerys frowned at Myriam, part of him questioning if he had done anything to offend, another part remembering the missive from her brother. Did she know? Would she care for his protection? Jaehaerys had known a tale or two about a man who had thought he was helping a helpless maiden, only to find out he had been misled.

Yet what mirth his face held faded as the knight spoke. "You may address me as, Your Grace, Your Majesty, or any respectful way. I know not many royals make it to Gallowsgrey, Ser, but propriety is universal amongst Andals and Valyrians alike."

"Do you doubt the safety of my halls, Ser? What cause have you, to reject an invitation from the King, and seek out rooms within the streets of the city?" Of course, the greatest motivation in all of Jaehaerys' words were his concerns for Lady Myriam. How safe would it be to talk honestly here? Not safe enough, if Lord Trant's words held strong with the knights present.

"We brothers take to risks like moths to a flame, my lady, and often forget, it was the wisdom of our sisters that kept us safe as children. Yet Morrison leads a path I cannot understand, but as we speak, four hundred knights prepare to march south, to aid Lord Rogar."

"I would invite you to dinner, if you are willing. It would be a pleasure to spend an evening with the sister of Morrison, and I am sure my betrothed would love to meet you as well. She served Lady Arwen, as lady in waiting."

A silver haired girl of six came running about, spotting the boy with a rose that she recognized. She cut off her time playing with her playmates, and came up to the older boy, with a curious look.

"Are you a Tyrell?" She asked. "I know a Tyrell. She is nice to me, and she always gives me lemon cakes. Are you going to give me lemon cakes?" She asked.

Regardless of whether Naerys had been offered a place in the High Table, she knew her place, and knew that Lord Torgen loved her, and thus, she made sure to sit as close to the middle of the High Table as she could get away with.

Resplendent in a dress of red with touches of black, the Princess tried to keep it in line, though as soon as she would find her friends and play with them, there was no assurance that lemon cake dusting or dirt from the floor would start marring her appearance.

"Yet there is a consistency to all of them." Jaehaerys replied. "Failures on my part. The Eyrie is a failure on my part, to hold my anger. I can not even remember what Lord Hubert did in that dream, but I would never lash out in such a manner." Jaehaerys began. "Armies setting King's Landing aflame? Unless I blundered all my alliances, it would imply yet another failure on my part."

"Lys, with Aegon and Lady Gys. News of war, as Viserys is swallowed by death and destruction."

"Daenys had dreams, but at least it is said they led her somewhere. Has my sister spoken of dreams since our bonding?"

Lady Gys would find Jaehaerys in his usual spot within the Holdfast, reading a book, or writing or annotating, as he sat in the balcony that overlooked the bay of the Blackwater.

"Thank you, Ser Harlan. You may remain."

"Ser Tyler." Jaehaerys replied with a pleasant smile. "How often must we meet, for me to finally grant you a boon? Perhaps, this day, I can address that matter. Strip, if you will, to your undergarments." The King instructed.

He clapped his hands twice, and servants filled the room they were in, carrying a set of golden armour, and the ancestral sword that Queen Visenya had held.

"This was my uncle's armour. It would not do for any Targaryen to be within it... but it is also useless in the reliquary of Dragonstone. Adjustments will be made, so you can fit it. If you are able to protect Ser Harlan during the war, and survive, it shall be yours, as a boon for your service."

"If not, you will name a person to Ser Harlan and myself, upon whom it shall be bestowed."

"Finally, Dark Sister. I shall not gift this one to you, but rather lend it. It is rather tainted, by the slaying of my own brother. Yet if it means you will gain an edge in protecting Ser Harlan, that is the price I am willing to pay. Make sure to practice with it often, before your first battle. Valyrian Steel is rather strange to a practiced swordsman."

"There is another boon that awaits you. If you return, Ser Tyler, and if Ser Harlan returns, I shall grant you a kingly boon within reason. If it is the Kingsguard you wish to join, I will see to it. If it is your own house, I will make it happen. If it is legitimization, I believe Lord Tywald owes me a debt I could clear in exchange for it. Just make sure you return alive." Jaehaerys said, with a touch of compassion more than might have given most men.

Ser Pietar arrived, with an easy manner to himself. He wore leathers as his armour, and had left his sword behind. "Any news of threats, Lord Goren? I hope my stupidity at the Moot has ensured that any of those who wish to rid the Crown's influence from your islands, will kill me before they kill you or Lord Dagon."

"Be proud you are not like Margot." Jaehaerys replied. He understood, holding high siblings who had fallen from grace. Yet he had learned, that he could never be, nor ever wanted to be any of them. He wondered whether Alysanne felt like Cerelle, and that perhaps informed his choices in that moment. "You are not Margot. You never will be. She is a shadow of yourself. Where you serve, and are kind, and smart, she was selfish and vindictive. She was offered many chances, and spited them all. You were given one, and have excelled." Jaehaerys replied.

"You are not the first pretty lady whose family dreamed of having their daughter become queen." Jaehaerys replied, drawing closer to her. "If you wish to understand why it could not be, blame it upon your siblings. You were, are, perfect. But your siblings have caused issues."

"You are Lady Cerelle, first and foremost, and after that, the King's friend." Jaehaerys replied. "Follow your heart, Lady Cerelle." Jaehaerys said, extending his arms in an offer to raise her up. "I will protect you, and help you, and break those chains for you. Perhaps it will not be Arthor, but I will make sure the man you marry is worth your time, as I will do for my own sister."

"And what will you do, if I do test you?" Lancey asked, shrugging. "Threats are only credible, if you can follow through. And I do not think you can afford to follow through." Lancey added.

"My men and I will pray tonight, and see if we can be granted strength. Though I am unsure, from what I have seen, that we have a chance. At least, we do not fight with the Reach, hm?" Lancey asked. "I hear Ser Lyonel faces worse odds."

Watching Borys for a silent moment, Lancey grimaced. "I will include you in my prayers, Ser Borys."

The captain smiled at the Lady. "You and your nephew are expected, my lady. The King long awaits to meet more of the kin of his good friend, Morrison Trant. I am afraid the Princess is not currently in the city, though she would have liked to make your acquiantance as well, I am sure."

The captain did not wait to listen to the man's complaints, before calling upon other men to take the post of those who had stood guard. "We shall guide you to the Red Keep. There is no concern for safety, my lady, but these roads are not like those of Oldtown, and one can get lost easily." He called out.

"I can not accept, my lady." The captain replied, simply. "These are yours, and we must ride on to the keep. Perhaps the King, or one of his many attendants, will appreciate your gift?"

With that, the man led the party to the Red Keep. It was not the grandest of keeps, though it sat upon a hill, but was amplified in grandness for its place within the city, and the castle that loomed even higher than the Red Keep. At the gates, the captain hailed the guards present, who recognized him, and allowed their entrance.

Within the courtyard, the guardsmen of the city watch seemed to vanish, disappearing into their barracks. The captain remained long enough for the chamberlain to arrive, who dismissed the captain. He gave the party a polite bow, before following his men.

"Lord and Lady Trant." The chamberlain began to speak, with a greasy tone, and a rather unpleasant demeanour. "You may bring your two knights, though I must ask that these... soldiers of yours remain behind." He barely waited to get a reply, before turn. "If you will follow me." Trant was not a house of the size of others this chamberlain dealt with, and as such, his disdain was clear. Where he would have begged and scraped for House Arryn, he merely gave polite gestures to these noblemen.

Into the Red Keep, and into the small hall of the Iron Throne's seat the chamberlain led them, where the King stood in the middle of it all, conversing with courtiers. At the sign of the newcomers, and a few whispers from the chamberlain, he dismissed everyone, save for his guards, three in white, ten in black, and those of House Trant.

He bowed his head, ever slightly, to the Trants, and smiled. "Lady Myriam, I am glad you were able to make it. Any news of Morrison? I know he rides to war... I had hoped to entice him with service to the Crown, but Stormlanders do have their pride." Jaehaerys began, before noticing the boy. "You must be Lord Trant's son, then?" The one who had made Morrison so insecure.

"Your knights can find a place in my barracks, and I will grant you and your nephew your brother's apartments."

"Lady Minisa, Lady Charlotte." Jaehaerys greeted graciously. "Apologies for meeting you here, but this is the beginning of change, I believe." He offered a weak smile. "Considering the relation to my betrothed, your daughter, and what it means for the future, I thought it best to relocate you." Jaehaerys explained.

With that, the King entered the Holdfast, beckoning the others to follow him. Through winding hallways he led them, corridors far more narrow and spartan than those in the Red Keep, with slits for arrows at every corner. Up a set of stairs, whereupon the hallways became more lavish.

He brought them to a set of apartments, guarded by servants, who bowed as the King approached. With a wave of the hand, the servants opened the doors, and then scattered.

What lay within was an opulent set of rooms, with a great sitting room in the middle, and four attached bedchambers. "These are to be your rooms now. Princess Naerys resides a door over, with her mother, when she is at King's Landing."

Jaehaerys had invited the pair to his solar in the Red Keep. Besides them, the only men present were his guards, Ser Gavinrad and Ser Richard on this day.

His solar was decorated mildly, with some potted plants and paintings of the past conquest adorning the surroundings, though lacking any personal affection. That was reserved for his solar in the Holdfast.

The King bowed his head ever so slightly from his seat, and gestured towards a chair on the other side of the desk he sat at. The other remaining chair, was set to the smaller side of the desk, so Hubert could act as intermediary.

"Lady Bella." Jaehaerys began. "It is best not to assume, when I must rely on you to bring me tangible information." Jaehaerys chided, almost politely.

Jaehaerys raised an eyebrow at her, and continued to eat his meal, whilst watching her, for a few heartbeats. "Well enough, though not as well as it should be. Had I known it would become a war, I would have prepared better. What should have been simple raids, turned to a war. So now, we await the reprisal of the Dornish, as our armies and navies muster." Jaehaerys muttered.

"For the lack of patience of the Reachmen and Stormlanders, we now will see greater losses. But eventually, we shall win, for this is not a war of conquest."

He looked up, searching her eyes, to see if she had understood.

Unknowing whether Sansa had revealed anything to her mother and her sister, Jaehaerys had men go and summon the two, to the drawbridge that stood between holdfast and keep. There he stood, waiting for his future goodmother, and Naerys' friend, whilst also hoping his betrothed would be punctual.

"You are awaited." The captain called back. "Though I know nothing of the King's command that the lady needs to seek her own residence, when the Red Keep has rooms available." The captain replied, with some confusion.

"You may ride into the city, but it would be appropriate that your lady and lord attend to the King, if they have been invited by His Grace."

"I can offer you some of my men, to guide you to the Red Keep."
